There’s a time & place for high rep sets of squats.

When so many of our youngest Titans choose to push through the discomfort of rep 7-8-9…while staying focused and holding onto their technique - we know at some level, it’s been a successful introduction to the next 3 years of training here.

Are we Living our goals and aspirations, are we Loving them, do we Like them?

If we Like them, we’ll be pretty good.
If we Love them, we could be great.
If we’re Living them, we will be elite.

Let’s Live a life that coincides with what we need.

Where we are, will be determined by our constant preparation.

Everything is important.

Every lift in here has great value.

The idea of “auxiliary” or “supplemental” lifts does not exist in our weightroom. The lifts that may seem not as important as the traditionally popular ones, they’re the “glue” that keep our bodies safe and performing.

We said it when we began training together last year, “Our women will bench plates.”

Maximum Strength takes time, genuine hard work, and patience. We had 9 women bench a plate or more Monday:

1. Avery Plummer
2. Emma Flick
3. Brooklyn Sherman
4. Lydia Sams
5. Tatum Sanborn
6. Layla Needham (9th Grade)
7. Lillian Kolt
8. Keira Murphy
9. Emily Kelsey

Those numbers are byproduct of factors - characteristics of their character.

They train consistently in their weightroom - our class, they follow instructions, have the courage to ask questions, know what heavy feels like, their goals are in line with their words - we could go on and on.

The recipe for strength is here and they follow it.

They’re models for the young women around them and the ones coming up through our program.

We’re grateful.

Manual Resistance (MR) lifts. Just like everything else we do in here, it’s a “more than meets the eye” scenario.

1. Are we mature enough to physically spot our partner through a set?
2. Do we understand the movement profile; when and where to apply pressure?
3. Are we making sure it’s a tough-hard set?
4. Are we leading or distracting?
5. Can we stay incredibly focused for 45 straight seconds?

And there’s so many other things the performance through a set of “Rockers” tells us.

Our women are strong and consistently awesome examples of how we work together in here.

To be “Engaged”

For at least an hour out of our day, we turn away from being a bystander.

Our training partners - the other 2 Titans at our rack, are the most important people in the room.

And we must ask ourself, “What can I do to help them with their training, their experience?”

This notion or belief system is going to get us to where we want to be. It’ll take time, but think about how far we’ve come together in the past 2 school years? It’s impressive.

We’re becoming a unit.

Genuinely-sincerely, what can we do to make their workout the best part of their day, without wanting anything in return.

A high-five?

Spot an extra REP?

Help them add their weight up?

Coach’em up?

We’re not going through our training as bystanders; we’re engaged and we’re selflessly focused on only the things that matter - are we doing our best?

We’re incredibly proud of you and this entire group.
