We, along with our karting community, mourn the loss of one of the “founding fathers” of karting in North Alabama. If you have been to a go kart race in the last several decades, you knew Mr. Charles - up until just a few weeks ago, he was still trying to talk me into free entry fees. 😆 He loved go kart racing, and we loved him. Please keep his family, and our karting family in your thoughts through the coming days as we lay him to rest. I know he and Gary will sit together on Saturday evenings and talk about what we should’ve done differently that day 🤣 Arrangements are below:

So often, we get wrapped up in the business side of this industry, we forget the true vision and heart behind our Karting community. We were presented with a helmet on Saturday, honoring our 10 year mark at Beaver Creek. This is representation of those of you who have stood by and supported us over the last 10 years, and serves as a reminder of why we do what we do. This isn’t just our racing community, this is our racing family. 🏁

Also have to call out a special thanks to the Luna family for putting this together and Brandon & Kevin at Karting Warehouse for always being a great partner to us and our racers.

It’s Finally raceday! We have been fighting Mother Nature all summer (including 3 inches of rain over the last 48 hours) but we finally have some sunshine and are ready to get this race in!

As this is an ongoing issue. If the gate times posted via Beaver Creek or Brodock Motorsports are 12:00pm - this means 12:00 pm. The gates are closed for a reason. We are understaffed, and choosing to open the gate prior to posted gate times and let yourself in both makes it harder on those prepping the track to maneuver around traffic and now causes an extra staff member to need to walk around and collect gate fees and ensure that Armbands are correct. Please respect our workers as well as our posted times. We promise, we will get the gates open for you guys but please, please refrain from continuing to open the gate and let yourself, and others in. Thank you for your cooperation.

We’ve heard the rumors that "Beaver Creek doesn’t try anymore" or that "they just don’t care."

Let’s set the record straight.
This track hasn't been raced on since sometime in June, and I'd bet there isn't another facility that's more race-ready than ours right now. These photos were taken today at 12:00 p.m. We don't just show up on race day—we work on this place constantly, whether it's Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday.

Yes, we worked to seal the track. Yes, we did everything we could to prepare in hopes of racing. We wanted to get this event in just as much as everyone else. But when the forecast is calling for an inch or more of rain beginning around race time, we have to make the responsible decision.

Beaver Creek Speedway is a business. Opening the gates knowing there's a high likelihood of a rainout, only to send everyone home with a refund after they've driven hours and spent money on fuel, hotels, food, and race expenses, isn't fair to our racers or their families. It's not good business, and it's not how we choose to operate.

We know cancellations are disappointing. They're disappointing for us too. But we'd rather make the tough call before people load up and travel than waste everyone's time and money chasing a forecast that simply isn't in our favor.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support Beaver Creek Speedway, and when the weather cooperates, we'll be ready.
