Ballistics and Grinds Kettlebell Training

Ballistics and Grinds Kettlebell Training Teach people how to be strong and move well, to be supple, happy human beings. Our trainers our CrossFit level 1 certified.

CrossTrain is a group fitness class designed for each participant to get top notch professional instruction and workouts. The class is segmented into 3 parts including warm-up, skill development and the workout. During the warm-up, we perform movement prep or PVC pipe mobility exercises (5-15 minutes). In skill development, we work on mastering skills including kettlebell movements, cleans, snatch

es, thrusters, overhead squats, push press, front/back squats, box jumps etc. Your Athletes Excel instructor will teach standard gymnastic/body weight movements including kipping/butterfly pull-ups, burpees, push-ups, dips, L-sits, AbMmat sit- ups and handstand holds/push-ups etc. Finally, the metabolic conditioning will be made up primarily of running and jump rope. You can expect to learn the skill of running to transform you into a more efficient faster runner. After skill development, the class will perform a 20-45 minutes of high intensity circuit style workout putting what you've learned in skill development to the test. Athletes Excel provides equipment including kettlebells, mats, abmats, superbands (to assist and learn pull ups), agility ladders, medicine balls etc.

We're halfway through the Texas Method Strength program and the PRs are rolling in! Coach got a PR at double 32kg (140 lbs) for 2 reps, Nick Brock and PR'd with double 40’s (176 lbs), and hit double 36’s (160). Jesse even hit 6 touch and goes on bench with 225, another PR. What a Thursday morning! 🦍 πŸ’ͺ

Doing push-ups the right way is tough. Setting up a band will help find the hollow position or for those that have a nice push-up we can work on floating at the top, plyo-pushups to hit fast twitch muscle. And BTW, these are different speeds but all look great!

Rafael Cooper, Speed and Conditioning Coach affectionately goes by Coach Coop! Coop majored in Kinesiology at the University of Louisville, was an NFL running back for the Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans, and Green Bay Packers. He has always been enamored with speed and going fast. He set out 21 years ago to pass on his knowledge to youth athletes and in doing so has produced 20 All-American youth sprinters, 5 AAU National Champions and 2 AAU Championship record holders. Speed is a difference maker in all sports! If your child needs help maxing out his/her speed potential, look no further than Coach Cooper now coaching at B&G. 1st class is free to try, but you must RSVP.

crushing it at B&G! Windmills at 20kg and a new right press PR at 24kg - impressive! Weighted chin-ups with 6kg too. Can't wait to see her progress next time! Way to go Devon!
