Soccer may be taking over our fields for the next couple of months, but we know it’s not every athlete’s sport! 📣

Our friends at Cheer Athletics Maine are offering a great Fall Cheer Program for kids interested in learning cheer, building skills, staying active, and being part of a team this season.

We’re always happy to share opportunities that give local kids more ways to find something they enjoy. If you have a future cheerleader at home, be sure to check out Cheer Athletics’ fall program! 💙

Practices begin NEXT WEDNESDAY, September 9, from 6:00–7:00 PM!

Open to athletes ages 5–18, no experience needed! Athletes will learn a fun routine and perform at an Oceanside Mariners football game and our CA Maine Blue Debut Showcase!

⚽️ TONIGHT! 🥅

Just a reminder that our Oceanside Recreation Soccer Kickoff for 3rd–6th grade players is happening today, September 2nd, at the Thomaston Riverview Fields (29 Wadsworth Street).

Today is also the deadline to register for the 2026 soccer season. If you know a 3rd–6th grade player who still wants to join us, please help spread the word! We’ll have in-person registration available tonight, and online registration remains available for families who can’t make it to the kickoff.

Players should bring water and come ready to play. Cleats and shin guards are encouraged.

We’re excited to get everyone together, shake off the rust, and officially get the 2026 season underway. We’ll see you on the field tonight!

We’re excited to invite all 3rd through 6th grade Oceanside Recreation soccer players to our first in-person Registration & Skills, Coaches Conversation & Skills/Drills Kickoff Session at Thomaston Riverview Fields (29 Wadsworth Street) on Wednesday, September 2nd. ⚽️

Oceanside Coach and Pitch Director Robbie Krul and his team have generously donated their time to help us kick off the season with an evening focused on getting players moving, working through skills and drills, and giving our volunteer coaches an opportunity to get involved before teams and schedules are finalized.

⚽️ Kickoff Night Schedule:
Volunteer Coaches:
Please arrive between 5:00–5:15 PM

⚽️ Players:
Please arrive and be ready to go by 5:15 PM
Skills & Drills: 5:15–6:45 PM

⚽️ Coach Meeting: 6:45–7:00 PM

This will also be our opportunity for in-person registration, so if you know a family with an athlete who is interested in playing but hasn’t registered yet, please encourage them to come down! We want to make sure every interested athlete has a chance to join us before teams are finalized.

Please help us spread the word to friends, classmates, neighbors, and other Oceanside families. The more players and coaches we can get together for our kickoff, the better start we can give everyone heading into the season.

We’re excited to kick off our Pre-K through 2nd Grade Soccer Clinics this morning, Sunday, August 30!

Here’s a quick reminder for today:

Pre-K & Kindergarten: 9:00–10:00 AM
1st & 2nd Grade: 10:00–11:00 AM

📍 Location: Watts Avenue baseball field, next to Thomaston Grammar School

Athletes should bring a water bottle and come ready to have some fun! Cleats and shin guards are encouraged if you have them, but they are not required.

If you can’t make it this morning, no worries at all. Today is just the first of our Sunday sessions, with five more clinics scheduled as we continue through October.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on the field this morning and kicking off a fun soccer season!

We’re counting down the days to Color Me Cured 2026! 🎨🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Join us on Saturday, September 12th for the Color Me Cured Race & Walk as we come together for a fun, colorful day with an even bigger purpose: supporting research toward a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. 💙

This year’s race will be professionally timed by Run In A Race LLC, and we’re strongly encouraging everyone planning to participate to pre-register online. Pre-registration helps us prepare for race day and makes check-in much easier!

👕 Every registration includes a FREE Color Me Cured T-shirt!

Day-of registration will also be available, so nobody has to miss out, but registering ahead of time is definitely the way to go.

September 5th is looking like a pretty good day to spend in Thomaston! 🎶☀️

CAMFEST is taking over the Thomaston Town Stage from 1–9 PM for a full afternoon and evening of live music, food, co****le, lawn games, and local vendors!

This event supports the Cameron Frisone Cancer Foundation , so come enjoy a day of music and community while supporting an important cause close to home.

🏈🔥 OCEANSIDE P*E WEE FOOTBALL IS BACK! 🔥🏈

We are SO excited to get the 2026 football season started! 💪🏈

📅 First Week of Practice — Grades 3–6
📍 Thomaston Street Field in Rockland — just past the baseball fields
⏰ 5:30–7:00 PM

Practice Dates:

➡️ August 27th

The first week will focus on conditioning, fundamentals, and getting everyone back into football shape. There will be NO helmets or pads during the first week.

⚠️ Grades K–2: Your season will start a little later. We are still working on the start date and will announce it as soon as it is finalized!

Six teams. One full day of softball. $1,701 raised for Thomaston Rec. 🥎

Yesterday marked the 2nd Annual Thomaston Diamond Drive 💎, the one tournament on our calendar where proceeds go directly back into the Recreation budget. Every team that stepped onto the field helped support our continued efforts to maintain and improve recreation facilities, fields, and equipment.

Congratulations to the visiting Lewiville Sluggers, who went undefeated and took home the championship! Cartel finished 2nd, followed by Bushwhackers in 3rd, Ball Busters in 4th, Strays in 5th, and our House Free Agents in 6th. We were especially excited to have enough individual registrations for a full Free Agent team (even though we unfortunately missed getting a team photo)!

We also recognized a male and female MVP (Brian & Asia), and both championship teams walked away with some seriously shiny trophies. 💍

My list of thank yous is long. Hope and Nova were superstars in concessions; Richard, Jason, Gavyn, Dylan, Duncan, Victoria, and Jake volunteered as umpires; Kevin, Richard, Hope, and Jason helped take down the outfield fence; Gavyn assisted with field prep; Nikki helped organize registration; Jason, Dylan, and Burns helped with trash pick up; and Brian (Primo) for my first event jerseys. I appreciate every minute each of you gave to make the day successful.

One more exciting piece of softball news: we received an invitation to an ALL-WOMAN TOURNAMENT on September 19! 🥎 With our female softball numbers continuing to grow, we’d love to put together a Thomaston team. I’ll be reaching out to recruit!
