The Temecula Chess Club Needs a New Home
Since 2013, the Temecula Chess Club has served our community as a nonprofit organization, providing a place for people of all ages to gather, learn, compete, and enjoy the game of chess.
Today, the club's future is uncertain.
The location we call home is no longer accepting leases, so we must move. Unfortunately, commercial lease rates in Temecula have risen to the point that finding another location a small nonprofit like ours can afford has become extremely difficult.
Without a new home, the Temecula Chess Club is in danger of closing its doors.
For more than a decade, the club has been a place where young and old minds alike can find a little refuge from the digital age. A place to sit across a board from another person, think deeply, solve problems, compete, learn from mistakes, shake hands, and enjoy one of the world's greatest games.
We would love to keep that going.
We are reaching out to the community in hopes that someone may know of a person, business, church, school, community organization, property owner, or other organization that has space that could become a new home for the Temecula Chess Club. We don't need anything elaborate. We need an affordable, dependable place for our players to keep gathering.
If you know of a possibility, please reply to this post, send us a message, or contact [email protected]
And even if you don't know of a location yourself, sharing this post may help it reach someone who does.
After more than a decade in Temecula, we hope the Temecula Chess Club has another chapter ahead.
