I can do hard things. 🧠💪

Today was a masterclass in building mental fortitude. Even though my body was fully capable, the mind wasn't making it easy, turning the race into a grind.

Beyond happy to be back home with my family now, and incredibly grateful for the resilience this day built. Thank you to everyone at for a fantastic race and all the incredible support out on the trails!

Race week training hits different ❤️
4 days to Kettlefoot 50k ⛰️

What does day 2 of race week look like as a homeschooling mom?

4am wake up call to go to the gym
20 min yoga
1 mile treadmill run
20 min yoga
Lead my 7am team training and train clients
Meet up with my family for homeschool co-op
Fly kites
Walk 2.35 miles with a friend
Back to the gym for another 2+ mile treadmill run
Shower
Pick up pizza for dinner
Family snuggles and movie night

A full day of family, movement, and plenty of carbs to fuel the machine! 🌾🥔

We don't aim for perfection; we build consistent, realistic rhythms that protect our recovery. Keeping that balance is what keeps my tank full for the family and fuels the bigger momentum building toward the Cherokee 130k.

Last long run before Kettlefoot 50k! 🏔️

I’ve been consistently hitting 50-mile weeks, but with coming up this weekend, I took a mini taper. Today was all about a slow and steady 2.5-hour cruise to get 13.3 miles done, wrapping up a 44-mile week.

Since this race is ultimately a training milestone on the block for the Cherokee 130k, I'm keeping the taper light.

My game plan for the next 5 days:

👉 Easy, relaxed miles 🏃🏽‍♀️

👉 Light functional strength & mobility work

👉 Quality carbs & intentional recovery 🥞

Dialing it in and getting body and mind ready to tackle the trails this Saturday!

At the end of the day, it's about trusting the training, listening to your body, and remembering why we love the wild spaces.

Hike a loop, run a loop, swim

Now that's a good way to spend a Tuesday afternoon.

3 miles in 1.5 hours hiking with kids and friends, 3 miles in 27 minutes running solo, then hours of swimming, splashing, and playing. ❤️🌲🏃🏼‍♀️⛰️🌞

Proof that you don’t have to choose between family time and pushing your own limits. You can absolutely do both. 🙌🏼

As a coach, I always tell my athletes that fitness shouldn't feel like a chore—it should be a passport to adventure. Your training should support your life, fuel your joy, and keep you ready for spontaneous multi-sport days like this one.

It's easy to be blind to progress when I look back at yesterday...but when I look back at who I was 10 years ago, then the progress is clear.

10 years ago, I could barely walk more than 10 minutes. If I ran 10 steps, I'd be in crippling pain. Walking up 10 steps left me gasping for air.

Cut to today: 10 miles down, 10 to go, and finding the perfect branch to hang out in. 🐒

Don't let the slow days trick you into thinking you aren't growing. The daily grind might feel heavy, but the 10-year view is absolutely wild. Keep moving, keep playing, and look at how far you’ve climbed.
