Cross country season is officially here!

At the USA Track & Field Pacific Asso curtain raiser in Santa Cruz, Trevor Halsted was 6th, while at Sunday’s Phil Widener Empire Open in Santa Rosa, sarah_gayer notched her first individual PA podium finish in 3rd, while Trevor was again in the top 10 in 8th and Oli Langford opened the season with a 15th place in his last year competing against the youngsters in the Open division!

Good summer outing on Saturday at the Cooper Teare Classic 8k & 10 Miler! In the 8K, Ethan Phelps took fifth and Ethan Yan scored some PA circuit points as part of his workout in 18th, while Matt Lenehan and Zach Hine were steady eddie as usual, finishing 5th and 8th in the 10 miler!

Solid 15,000m of workload this weekend at USA Outdoors for Claire Green. 11th today and a season’s best in the 5000m to go with a 7th place in the 10,000m on Thursday. First time doubling at nationals and plenty of hunger for more next year!

Another beautiful summer morning at Wharf to Wharf! Matt Lenehan and brand new member Gillian Meeks (proper kit incoming!) both set club bests for 6 miles (not 10K!), finishing 9th and 3rd respectively. Sarah Anderson and Marissa Ferrante (previous record holder) finished a very strong 7th and 8th on the women’s leaderboard, with Sierra Brill and Steven Grolle (previous men’s club record holder) both picking up jackets with solid summer racing efforts!

2 PDC athletes in the top 10 at USATF Outdoor Nationals 10,000m!

Claire Green was 7th, moving up two spots from last year in her top nationals finish so far. As usual, she was tough when caught between groups and refused to yield.

Erin McDonald kept her head with a lot of place changes around her during the second half of the race. 10th place in your first ever US Champs at age 30 is pretty excellent!

Congrats to Claire Green and Erin McDonald, who will be representing PDC next week at the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week in New York City!

Both will be running the 10,000m on Thursday evening (8:16pm Eastern), and Claire will double back in the 5000m on Sunday (4:41pm Eastern).

This is the first USA Outdoors qualification for Erin, while Claire will be back for the third time running after competing at the 2024 Olympic Trials in the 5000m and the 2025 USA Outdoors in the 10,000m!

What’s becoming a real tradition at Kezar in the summer? A fun night of track racing and Faith ! crossing the line first! This time, Faith won the women’s elite women’s Mile at the Trials of Miles Racing Track Night SF on Wednesday. Sarah Johnson was fourth and Danielle Katz fifth, while on the men’s side, Emmett Reynier took third while Garrett MacQuiddy paced.

In the 5000m heats, Marissa Ferrante notched her first sub-17 as a mom, going 16:54, while Anna Haddad had a 2026 season’s best. Melinda DiNapoli competed in her first ever track 5K at age 56, and Dena Evans ran her first in this century and does not anticipate making it two.

After a 6th place finish at the Abbot Kinney One road mile on June 21, claire yerby!! closed out her 2026 outdoor season with an 8th place finish at the Harry Jerome Track Classic. She also made a new friend!
