Tabor Legion Post 183 Defeats Madison Sr Legion 5-2 in Game #3 of Lewis & Clark Tournament

Madden Merkwan was dominant on the bump, as the starter rang up 13 strikeouts in Tabor Legion Post 183's 5-2 victory over Madison Sr Legion Post 25 on Saturday in Crofton, NE. Merkwan allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.
Tabor Legion Post 183 got on the board in the first inning after Alex Adler singled, scoring one run.
Tabor added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Merkwan grounded into a fielder's choice, and Cooper Mudder doubled to center field, each scoring two runs.
Braylon Oftedal took the loss for 2026 Madison Sr Legion Post 25. The reliever went six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one. Casyn Crabtree started the game for Madison Sr Legion Post 25. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over one inning, striking out two and walking none.
Post 183 piled up 10 hits in the game. Mudder and Major Aarstad each collected two hits for Tabor. Merkwan and Mudder were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Tabor Legion Post 183.
Tyler Olson led Madison Sr Legion Post 25 with one run batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Oftedal, Quincy Kurtz, and Olson each collected one hit for Madison. Sr Legion Post 25 were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Tregg McGillivray had the most chances in the field with eight.
Tabor Legion Post 183 will play Sioux Falls East Post 15 Legion next for a chance to advance to Championship Game.
