Meet Acorn! Acorn is arguably the best horse at Sunriver Trail Rides. He is a staff favorite and an all around perfect gelding. He also stands very well for the farrier, which he is pictured here, getting his hooves worked on. Acorn is a late-teens sorrel quarter horse type gelding. Everyone loves Acorn around here!

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene… 🤍

One Jolene became a country music legend.

Another Jolene became one of our favorite horses here at Sunriver Trail Rides. 🐴

Today, our Jolene is carrying the name with a little extra pride.

Rest peacefully, Dolly. Thank you for giving us a song, a smile, and a name that will keep riding on. ✨

This is Scoobie pictured next to our wonderful farrier, Spencer, of Brego Farrier Service. For those of you that don’t already know, a farrier is a specialist in equine hoof care who trims, balances, and fits shoes to horses’ hooves. Spencer does a fantastic job of keeping our herd’s shoes and hooves in working order all year long!

Meet Rebel! Although he is 27 years old this year and retired, he had been doing trail rides in Sunriver for most of his life. He originated, with a bunch of other trail horses, from Montana in the early 2000s. Rebel enjoys spending his time these days grazing and meeting new people up at the fence of the pasture. Come say hi to Mr Rebel! He may have a fly mask on in the summer time, which acts as sunglasses for him.

Meet Doc! A mid-teens quarter type pony. He is one of our good kiddo horses…or pony. Technically an equine is considered a pony when they stand 14.2hh or shorter! Doc has been in Sunriver for close to ten years!

Meet Connor! He is a big beautiful buckskin gelding in his 20s. Connor is a very shy horse with a heart of gold. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. While he might not be the first horse up to the fence to say hi, he does enjoy his life as a trail horse.

There’s just 3 weeks of pony rides left for the season! Bring your kiddo on down to the stables for an equine experience! Pony ride hours for the rest of the season are 10:30am to 1pm. First come first serve, tickets are sold at the trail ride check in window.

We are open daily for trail rides through Labor Day weekend, then Thursdays through Sundays until mid October or when the weather starts to deteriorate. Online reservations are recommended! Come visit us at the stables and go for a ride!

Meet Fred, one of our Mules. Fred has been with Sunriver Trail Rides since 2022. Fred is a staff favorite and one of the most perfect rides out on the trail. If you’ve ever wanted the opportunity to ride a long ears, request Fred next time you’re out at the stables for a ride!
