Meet Stephanie ๐คฉ
With nearly 35 years in the cheerleading industry, Stephanie Powell of Houston Private Cheer Coach brings a wealth of experience, passion, and mentorship to Apex Athletics. A former NCA All-American, NCA Staff member, NCA Division I Collegiate National Champion, and Coed Partner Stunt Champion, Stephanie has dedicated decades to developing athletes both on and off the mat.
After college, Stephanie earned a spot on the Spurs cheer team but declined to try her hand in the WWE. She pursued opportunities in the entertainment industry, where her cheer background helped her land roles in movies, television, commercials, and music videos. Although she explored many exciting paths, her true passion always remained in cheerleading, and she has been fully invested in developing athletes ever since.
Her coaching philosophy is rooted in building the โwhole athleteโ through strong technique, consistency, accountability, discipline, and attention to the small details that create long-term success.
Stephanie believes the greatest growth happens through adversity and that strong relationships, communication, and trust are the foundation of great teams. Her passion for mentoring athletes continues to drive her nearly three decades later, helping athletes become not only stronger cheerleaders, but stronger individuals as well.
Originally from Massachusetts, Stephanie has been married to her husband, Jason, for 19 years, and together they have two amazing sons.
