“Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls “ 🎶 I’m kidding 😂

Today went visited Shifen Waterfall. It absolutely blew me away. honestly wasn’t prepared for how BIG and powerful it is in person — but somehow still so incredibly calm and serene?? the mist on my face, the sound of the rushing water, the lush green all around… I could’ve stayed there forever 😭💚

Taiwan keeps surprising me at every turn and I am NOT complaining 🇹🇼

What’s up 🌿 As my time in Taiwan is slowly coming to an end, I find myself soaking in every last moment — the culture, the scenery, the people, the feeling of this place. 😍
Every corner I’ve turned has taught me something new about the rich history here, and honestly? It’s changed me a little. 🏯✨

Taiwan, you’ve been something else. This is one experience I will NEVER forget. 🙌🏾❤️

What’s up !! Spent the morning at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taipei and honestly… I was not prepared for how moving this place would be 🇹🇼✨
Built to honor the former Republic of China president and military leader Chiang Kai-shek, this landmark has become one of the most iconic symbols of Taiwan’s modern history. The massive white structure with its blue octagonal roof stands in the middle of a huge plaza — and the architecture alone is breathtaking, but the weight of what it represents hits different when you’re actually standing there 🏛️
The changing of the guard ceremony inside? Absolutely mesmerizing. These soldiers stand completely still for an HOUR before the ceremony — full discipline, full dedication 🫡 It’s a tribute to a complicated, powerful figure in Chinese and Taiwanese history, and being there gave me so much appreciation for how deeply the Taiwanese people hold onto their heritage and identity.
Truly honored to have visited this place 🙏 Taiwan keeps showing up for me in the best ways — every corner of this island has a story to tell and I am HERE for all of it 😭❤️

DeJuan Strickland is a young author, creator, and community leader from St. Louis, Missouri, and the founder of the Team Tech Boy Foundation. Through storytelling, comic books, and technology-based programs, he inspires youth while addressing real community needs. His foundation works to fight child hunger by providing meals, supporting families, and helping eliminate negative school lunch balances so no child is denied access to food. DeJuan is building a movement rooted in creativity, service, and empowerment, ensuring young people have both the resources and encouragement to thrive.
