❤️ SOMETIMES THE PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASK FOR HELP ARE THE ONES WHO NEED IT THE MOST. ❤️
If you know Zeke and Ricki, you know they are the kind of people who would do anything for anyone, but would never ask for a thing in return.
Well, today we’re asking for them. ❤️
Their son, Ashton, has been fighting a battle that started long before most of us could ever imagine.
Ashton’s journey with kidney disease began when he was just 12 years old. What should have been years filled with being a kid, growing up, and enjoying life instead became years of medical challenges, uncertainty, and fighting a battle he never asked for.
Now, at just 25 years old, Ashton is battling both heart and kidney failure and is in need of a transplant.
Ashton recently married his wife, and together they have two young children. They should be enjoying these years making memories, raising their babies, and building their future together.
Instead, their days revolve around dialysis, medical appointments, and the uncertainty of what tomorrow might bring.
Since starting dialysis, Ashton has been unable to work. His wife has taken on the role of his full-time caregiver, all while being a mother to their two young children.
And recently, this young family faced the unimaginable.
Ashton suffered a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest. His wife had to perform CPR on her own husband to bring him back.
A young wife fighting to save the life of the man she just married. Two little children who need their daddy. Parents facing the terrifying reality of possibly losing their son.
It’s something no family should ever have to experience.
And yet, through everything, this family continues to fight.
The road ahead is uncertain, and the financial burden that comes with ongoing medical care, dialysis, and the need for a transplant is overwhelming, especially with Ashton unable to work and his wife caring for him and their children full-time.
Zeke and Ricki would never ask for help. So we’re going to ask for them.
We’re coming together to raise money to help ease the financial stress on Ashton and his family so they can focus on what matters most; his health, his recovery, and getting the chance to watch his two little ones grow up.
We know times are tough for everyone, but if there’s ever been a time to come together and show what family, friendship, and community are all about, it’s now.
