When they say a picture is worth 1,000 words… I think sometimes, it’s much more.
This picture encapsulates so much to me. A miraculous milestone in my journey, about to step onto the pitch in Germany for the 6 a side World Cup representing the USA. If you told me 3.5 years ago this would happen I would be astonished… I still am. But getting to stand here with my wife who is the hero of the story and wearing the cross as my undershirt, who it is all for - KING JESUS.
I will make a separate post about team USA and the World Cup because it is worthy of it. But for now, I am in awe. I am thankful. I am praising God.
I have failed thousands of times on this journey. Wanted to give up even more. Struggled with fears, doubts, pains, and questions. But the Lord gave the strength to never quit and to keep putting one foot in front of the other. It has been a road of suffering and sacrifice. Yes, some of my story has been public and documented, but 95% has not. And it’s been hard. But GOOD hard. Anything worth doing will be challenging.
Throughout this journey I have pushed my mind, my spirit, and my body to the limits. I have prayed and listened at every step to know what to keep doing. I have met countless strangers I now call friends and owe so much gratitude to every trainer, door opener, and person who has believed in me and given me a chance. I feel no pressure to force what’s next in my journey and I am praying about what to do and what’s next - nothing will be impulse or done to maintain an image or a brand. I do not care about that. Only obedience. And whatever that is… I will do it with my whole heart once again.
Giants are still being slayed.
At the beginning of my journey I had a vision of a crowd of people yelling at me mocking “WHERE’S YOUR GOD”.
I pray my life and testimony will be and continue to be the reply, “Here is the Lord my God! I come in the name of Jesus.”
Warrior mode is just getting started. I’m in this for the long haul.
