Fall softball is right around the corner! Here are two important dates for all team managers:

Wednesday, August 26 @ 6:00 PM; check your email for the virtual invite

All teams are required to have a manager or team representative attend. Please make arrangements to ensure someone from your team is present!

⚾ Summer Adult Softball Update

Due to the ongoing wildfire impacts in our community, Spokane Parks & Recreation is canceling the remainder of the Summer Adult Softball League.

Dwight Merkel Sports Complex remains under an Evacuation Level 3, with no current timeline for when that may change. With Merkel unavailable and only one athletic complex currently available to us, we would not be able to complete the remainder of the season in a timely manner.

We know this is disappointing, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. The safety of our players, staff, officials, and community must come first. ❤️

Refunds/credits for the remaining portion of the season will be provided to the individual accounts that originally paid for registration. Our Accounting team is working through the best way to efficiently process the large number of refunds. You do not need to take any action. You will receive an email once the process has started.

Looking ahead, we are currently anticipating running the Fall Adult Softball League as scheduled, but this remains dependent on the ongoing fire situation and facility availability.

Thank you for your understanding and for being part of Spokane Parks & Recreation Adult Softball. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the fields when it is safe to do so. ❤️

⚠️ Adult Softball Update

Due to the ongoing wildfire impacts in our community, Spokane Parks & Recreation adult softball games are canceled for the remainder of the week.

We know how much our leagues mean to our players, teams, and families, and we understand the disappointment and disruption this may cause. However, the safety of our participants, staff, officials, and community comes first.

We will continue to monitor conditions and re-evaluate toward the end of the week regarding next week’s adult softball schedule. We’ll provide an update as soon as we have more information.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the fires, including those who have been displaced and the first responders working to keep our community safe. ❤️

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support of one another during this difficult time.

All activity at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex is indefinitely suspended while EMS crews respond to area fires. This includes all adult softball programming, rentals, reservations, and scheduled activities for third-party groups. Adult softball programming at Franklin Park is also suspended until further notice.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this incident. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

🚨 SOFTBALL GAMES CANCELLED TODAY 🚨

Due to poor air quality, all City of Spokane Adult Softball League games scheduled for today have been cancelled.

In accordance with City of Spokane Parks & Recreation policy, games are cancelled when the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches 150 or higher. Today's determination was made using AirNow.gov (ZIP Code 99205).

Staff will work to reschedule games whenever possible, which may include playing on a different night than your regularly scheduled league night. If a game cannot be rescheduled, teams will receive a refund of their per-game league fee.

The health and safety of our participants is our top priority. Thank you for your understanding, and we'll provide updates on rescheduled games as they become available.
