I was trying to improve my striking when Kirsten gave me some very direct advice:

“Brayson, what the f**k are you doing? Come down to LA and train with Bas.”

Bas… as in Bas Rutten.

That conversation ended up changing the direction of my training—and eventually influenced how we train our students today.

This is why you train! So proud of this woman and how she fought off her attacker! Getting in and out of vehicles are transitional spaces that attackers can take advantage of. It's one of the many aspects of our training we provide for our members.

UPDATE: March 14, 2025 - According to court documents, Michael Trout was found incompetent to stand trial. Trout will remain in a facility operated by DSHS.

Sometimes the biggest risk isn't chasing your dream—it's never trying.
