This past deer season wasn’t just successful — it was purpose-driven.

With increased antlerless tag allocations, hunters stepped up to help manage deer populations, promote healthy forests, and slow the spread of disease.

From early mornings in the stand to late-season pushes, Pennsylvania hunters continued to prove they’re one of the most powerful forces in conservation.

Here are some highlights from the 2025-26 deer seasons:
More than an estimated 505,600 deer were harvested statewide — up 6% from 2024-25.
That breaks down to about 185,310 antlered and 320,290 antlerless.
Antlerless harvests jumped 17% — that’s a huge win for herd balance!

And what does this mean to PA hunters?
Nearly 1 in 3 hunters tagged a buck — the highest success rate since 2007.
2 out of 3 bucks harvested were 2.5+ years old.
Archery, fi****ms, and muzzleloader seasons all played key roles, with fi****ms season contributing the most success.
