We decided to get out of Drag Racing because of the cost and effort to campaign such a car. We are now building a 1965 Chevelle 300 2 door sedan. The 496 inch BBC features a top end from Straub Technologies consisting of a custom profile solid roller, a set of Morel
Solid roller lifters, a set of Brodix aluminum heads built by Straub Tech and Straub Tech roller rocker. The intakeis a 406 casting Chevy High Performance dual plane piece with a Pro Systems 900 CFM dual line dual pump 4150 carburetor. The stock 289 casting block was bored .060 and honed, line honed, milled .023. The Mahle Piston have a .018 dome and are attached to a eagle 6.385 forged h-beam rods and an Eagle forged steel 4.250 crank. perfect circle rings and king bearings are used in this combination. The end CR with a .038 head gasket is 10.40 to 1. The engine will attach to a Tremec TKX 600, 5 speed trans with a Ram dual friction clutch and billet pressure plate. A-1 did the 3 inch driveshaft with 1350 u-joint and that attaches to a Chevy 12 boly housing with an Eaton posi unit and US Gear 3.73 ring and pinion. The rolling stock consists of a set of 15x4 Bogart Dragon front wheels with a set of Black Diamond Auburn vintage pie crust radial front runners. The rear wheels are Chevy Corvette rally wheel with a set of Towel City pie crust cheater slick which are DOT approved radials. The 4 wheel disc brakes are off of a Cadillac Catera. The interior was done in the original cloth from SMS Interiors and sewn up by Denny Dewy of Dewy custom interiors. The car was frame off nut and bolt restored by Wayne Henderson back in 2008.
