Practice lasted 10 laps. Kermit trying to tell me just wait and get your knee fixed stupid. Broke a valve spring, but think we caught it before it killed the engine. Hopefully see you 2027.

Race Day was Saturday July 25th, sorry for the late post. This trip it was just the old people show, with Steve, Aubrey and me. Luckily it was cool.

I elected to start in the back because this driver is in need of repair of my right knee and it was locking up on me during practice. Kermit and I got caught up in another cars spin, resulting in a flat LR tire. Thanks to Preston Clark and others for jumping in and helping change it. We came back out on track and was just going to make laps. But, eventually I got into a comfortable position and was able to pass a few cars to wind up 2nd place, not far behind the winner.

Thanks to Fleet Care for the awesome cookout. Also, shoutout to Patterson Auto Body and Sundrop.

We are looking at Langley as our next adventure, August 22.

Congratulations to Barry Dalton-Modified šŸ

Race day with Virginia Vintage Racers. After Friday practice was rained out, the track allowed us early Saturday practice which made for a long day. All went well. We qualified third overall behind two modifieds. We crossed finish line first in our sportsman class. But, in post race weigh in Kermit was found 59 pounds light.
We accept our mistake, but want to clarify.
At our shop Kermit weighs 3109. Legal is 3100. We accept we were still in the wrong because we didn’t add weight to allow for fuel burn off. To correct our problem we’re borrowing a set of scales to reweigh Kermit at home. Just so you know, we use grain scales normally, so they might be off.
But, in 41 years this is our first DQ.
Thanks to my help this weekend, AF and Mona, Kadence, Matt and Tanner and Steve.

Race Day. Sorry I couldn’t post on Saturday, as I had no service at the track. It was our first try of the year after Kermit’s visit to Frank Flemings body shop for some frame tweaking after last years wall visits. That repair šŸ.
We were off all day in speed and all around everything. I think it’s as much me as anything. But, we will regroup and try to improve.
I qualified pole in sportsman division, but Kermit broke loose off of turn two and spun on first lap. Then on restart, fuel shut off and wouldn’t start back. Kermit had enough.

Also, I need to thank my help yesterday. My young people, Mason Hoots and Kadence Martin, we appreciate you so much. Sincerely the old folks.
