Race 7 REcap at our home track Caraway Speedway was a great time, we always enjoy Caraway bc it's our home track, it's close to home and we all love the track.
🏎️💨 Weston was fast in practice on older Hickory race tires, for qualifying we put on a one race set from our last race at Dillon Speedway, lost a tenth and barely won the pole after he spun out. Weston said those tires weren't sticking at all. So we had to put on a new set, but thanks to our sponsors below that help us keep fresh shoes on every race to help maintain control and the fastest potential lap times.
🟢 Feature race, green flag drop, deja vu on turn one, got a very late poke on the inside by the p3 car again, spun us out 2nd race in a row in front of the entire field narrowly escaping total carnage. There was no lane, we had no time to react and we had no where to go either bc p2 was pinching us from outside. Its a bad move when everyone is bunched together like that on starts, it always ends in carnage and it did unfortunately for some! Very luckily, somehow we didn't get damaged this time. We literally just fixed the car on Friday from the same exact move from the last race at Dillon, which caused us major body damage and cost us another potential win. These things can easily be avoided by letting the field shake out, pass coming off corner instead of trying to stuff it going into the corner on the start when the entire field is bumper to bumper. then everyone can go home without unnecessary damage.
Since a lap wasn't completed we were able to get our spot back, the 2nd start was good, and brought it home after 30 clean green laps for win #4 in the Allison Legacy Race Series , 5 wins counting Freedom Factory! It's been a great season, Weston has really figured the car out. each track we revisit, he has been much faster than the time before as he continues to gain experience and confidence. Next We'll get the car in the shop, recheck our square and alignment, change the oil and plugs and get ready for the next one at Florence! See y'all there thanks for following and supporting us! Weston will be racing at Caraway Speedway this Saturday, May 30th. 🏁 He got his first win in the series at this track and it was extra special being our local track. Come out and enjoy in all the activities and watch some exciting racing.
