With a fresh wrap the new ZBASE 15-passenger van is now off to a customization shop for more upgrades! Just wait 'til you see what's being added!!

In addition to transporting Scouts to and from the airport or around the 40,000 acre ranch, we are looking forward to getting on the road and meeting YOU in person. Does your council have a University of Scouting, Council Camporee or another large event we should add to our travel list?

Summer may be winding down, but we're still thinking about the unforgettable adventures at ZBASE!

Our Kayak Fishing program gave Scouts the chance to paddle scenic waters, sharpen their fishing skills, and experience the outdoors from a whole new perspective. Whether it was landing the catch of the day or simply enjoying the peaceful moments on the water, every trip was an adventure worth remembering.

Here's a look back at some of our favorite moments from this summer. We can't wait to get back on the water next season!

The 2026 ZBASE Staff gathered at Main Event for our closing banquet last Sunday to celebrate a successful season and enjoy one last evening together before heading our separate ways!

This team spent the summer leading treks, running programs, cooking meals, providing medical care, transporting participants, maintaining facilities, and doing whatever else was needed to keep camp running. Their hard work allowed Scouts from across the country to experience adventure, challenge themselves, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you to our 2026 ZBASE staff for an incredible summer. The adventures may be over for now, but the impact you made will last far beyond this season.

Meet Matt!

Matt serves as our cook, keeping both participants and staff fed from Friday through Monday each week. After crews return from the trail and new participants arrive, he’s hard at work preparing meals and helping everyone get ready for the adventures ahead.

Matt helps make sure our participants and staff have a great meal waiting for them at the beginning and end of their trek.

BSA Troop 396 from Longhorn Council, Scouting America closed out the 2026 ZBASE summer season in true Scout fashion—by persevering through one of the wettest weeks of the summer!

Rain may have been a constant companion, but this crew didn’t let muddy trails, soaked gear, or wet socks slow them down. They embraced the challenge, kept a positive attitude, and made the most of every adventure the week had to offer.

As our final crew of the season, Troop 396 showed exactly what Scouting is all about: resilience, teamwork, and finding the fun even when conditions aren’t perfect. We’re proud of the determination they showed throughout the week and grateful they helped us bring another incredible summer at ZBASE to a close.

Congratulations, Troop 396! Thanks for sticking it out through the rain and helping us finish the season strong.

Meet Brendan!

Brendan is one of our medics this summer, but his role goes well beyond the Health Lodge. This summer he’s been one of our go-to staff members, helping shuttle participants and equipment across the property, jumping in to cook meals when needed, and filling whatever role needs to be filled.

No matter what’s on the schedule, Brendan is always willing to step up and help. His flexibility and work ethic have made a huge difference this summer, and we’re glad to have him on the ZBASE team!
