To understand our philosophy, you must first understand the origin of our philosophy; Jean Jacques Machado. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Machado and his brother trained under the tutelage of their uncle Carlos Gracie, who is credited for developing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Machado’s years of training have led him to open a Machado Academy in Southern California. The co-owners of 805 Jiu Jitsu are two black

belt instructors trained and ranked by Jean Jacques Machado. Years of training with Machado have offered these instructors the approval to open an official affiliate academy. We are proud to announce that we will be bringing the Machado legacy to Simi Valley

805 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu bases the Machado Method on a positive mindset. Our Academy will not only offer a prestigious curriculum, but it will also offer you an environment of like-minded individuals that train to improve themselves and their lives. We do not train to defeat. We train to defend.
