Congratulations to LBA Top Tier 7U. They won the Back 2 School Bash up in Amarillo this past weekend. This team works extremely hard and should be proud of all their accomplishments. Congratulations to former LBA standout Brooks Carter. The Shallowater native recently signed with Virgina Tech out of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Carter started his career at ACU and then transferred to Amarillo College. His parents are Richard and Stacy Carter. They’ve been long time supporters of our program! Carter recently stopped out to LBA and had this to say about the program: “Thank you, Coach Petrie for everything you do for this program and me . I’m incredibly grateful for your time, sacrifice, and dedication. I truly appreciate everything you do and feel very blessed to be part of this LBA Family!” Best of luck to Brooks as he continues his career at a big time program!

After working with the best in the world, one thing tends to stand out among the rest. The best in the world simply enjoy playing baseball.

This is a beautiful game, and it is a fun game.

At LBA, we try to remember this core, and incorporate fun into our workouts, including competition batting practice and player bonding.

Make no mistake - we are an academy that is focused on developing ballplayers who have intentions of playing at the next level, be it high school or collegiate baseball.

But we’ve found that players who enjoy playing and practicing tend to reach their potential far more consistently than those who don’t, and we try to bake this element into the work, from competitions to staff energy and beliefs.

Development can be fun, winning can be fun. Growing closer with your teammates, celebrating in everyone’s development and success, is fun. Memories and lessons that will last beyond the playing career, they are fun.

And at its core, baseball is fun.

At LBA, development isn’t just a tagline.

Development is at the core of everything we do and stand for. It’s the driving force behind our coaching staff. And it is the primary reason for a track record of success that has helped our athletes reach all levels of collegiate baseball, and onward to professional baseball.

Development comes with a resumé. LBA owner, Trent Petrie brings over 15 years of collegiate coaching experience, at all levels of collegiate baseball, from JUCO all the way up to Division 1. LBA is also proud to have programming and instruction led from a current MLB/MiLB coach on staff, continually keeping LBA at the forefront of long-term, fundamental skill development.

Both Trent and Taylor fully know the power of development, as both their careers were born out of a desire to incessantly improve themselves, and then go on to improve everyone around them. They believe in the power of the long term mission over the short-term fix.

With massive investments into the program over the last 5+ years, we still keep development at the forefront of everything we do. We are aided by the completion of 2 fully lit fields, alongside our indoor facility, creating a complex that means our teams never have to search for a practice spot, pay extra to reserve a field or cage, or otherwise potentially miss practice and development opportunities because of lack of access. Everything is in house and available to our teams and members. Development opportunities literally year round mean the player has every opportunity to grow in this beautiful game.
