Equipment Checklist
The start of Spring softball season is nearly upon us, and one of the frequently asked questions we receive is “What equipment do I need to provide for my child?” To make it easy for all, here is a list of required equipment your child will need to play:
1. Batting Helmet with Cage - All leagues/age groups require a cage on the batting helmet.
2. Fastpitch Softball Bat - Can be aluminum or composite and must have a ASA, USA and/or USSSA stamp.
3. Fielders Mask - This is required for all fielders in our recreational leagues.
4. Softball Fielders Glove - We recommend gloves no smaller than the following for each age group: 6U - 10”, 8U & 10U - 11”, 12U & up - 12”
5. Softball Pants - We recommend gray or black, but any color may be worn.
6. Molded Rubber Softball Cleats - Metal cleats are strictly prohibited in all age groups.
7. Equipment Bag - All this gear needs to go somewhere when not in use. We recommend getting a backpack style with a fence hook.
Optional Items: These items are not required, but may be useful
• Batting Gloves
• Sliding Shorts/Pads
• Batters Elbow/Leg/Hand Guard
Please make sure to put your child’s name on all their gear. In the event that it gets lost or left behind, this will help us get it back to the rightful owner.
