Miller Community Center A Seattle Parks and Recreation Community Center offering classes and events for toddlers, kids, teen

06/02/2026

Hello Capitol Hill and Central District neighbors and plant lovers!
We’re working to transform our community teen room into a calming, green sanctuary. Research shows that being around nature helps reduce stress and anxiety, and we want to give our local teens a peaceful space where they can unwind, recharge, and feel supported.

Our vision:
A cozy, welcoming room filled with beautiful indoor greenery.

How you can help:
We are looking for indoor houseplant donations!

• Size: The bigger and leafier, the better (and already in a pot if possible). But truly — any size is welcome!

• Light needs: The room has large, beautiful south‑facing windows, so plants that thrive in low‑to‑moderate indirect light — such as pothos, snake plants, ZZ plants, cast iron plants, or peace lilies — would be perfect.

If you have a plant you’ve outgrown, a cutting you’ve propagated, or one you’d simply like to rehome to a great cause, please drop a comment or DM us to coordinate a drop‑off or pickup.

You can also reach us at 206‑684‑4753 and/or [email protected]

And if any plant businesses would like to donate, we’d be happy to give you a shout‑out for your support.

Thank you so much for helping us create a peaceful space for our neighborhood youth!
