Join us in wishing Ernie a happy 🌱

It's been almost 27 years since Ernie Pock took on turf management for Raptor and Talon. Off the clock, he's a husband, grandpa, and avid golfer. At work, he's an old-school farmer. "Mother Nature calls the shots, our job is to observe and respond so that our guests have the highest quality playing surface" he says, when asked about his approach to agronomy. Between seasonal golf traffic and pendulum-swing desert temperatures, Ernie's experience and wisdom keeps the courses at Grayhawk among the highest-rated in Arizona. Nobody knows these fairways quite like Ernie, but he's getting the rest of the team up to par as a dedicated coach to his turf crew and a mentor to our golf professionals.

At the end of this month, Ernie and his team will begin the overseeding process to prepare the course for season. Happy farming!

Great people, great competition, and a beautiful day out on the course.

Thank you to Jack Miller and Fairmont Scottsdale Princess for bringing the 4th Annual Randy Horton Memorial Golf Tournament out to Grayhawk! We had a blast hosting the incredible team, and look forward to many more rounds together (and hopefully less rain delays) 🌧️⛳️
