The Sarasota Surge Rugby Club is a community-based sports team drawing from the greater Sarasota-Bradenton area. The club has experienced remarkable growth and success both on and off the field. After merging with the Sarasota International Cricket Club in the Fall of 2014, the club finally had a permanent practice and playing facility. This attracted new members and during the 2014/2015 season Su

rge finished an unbeaten League season and went on the win the division 3 Florida State Championship in 2016 for the first time in the club’s history. The Sarasota SURGE Rugby Club was founded in 2010 by a small group of International and American rugby players to fill the need for rugby in our area. Surge is a competitive D3 Men's Rugby Club representing Manatee & Sarasota Counties. Surge is equipped with a full coaching staff that can teach anyone the game. We welcome new and veteran players alike, at anytime during the season. Rugby is the second most played sport in the world next to soccer and stands as the fastest growing sport in the United States! The 2nd Annual Sarasota Rugby Club Scramble — Not Your Average Ruckin’ Tournament is officially open!

Last year was a hell of a time, and this year we’re going bigger and better.

Expect 18 holes of golf, rugby-themed games and contests, prizes, raffles, sponsor experiences, lunch, plenty of beer, and probably a little chaos along the way.

Golfers: Grab your foursome or register individually.

Businesses: Sponsorship opportunities are now available, from hole sponsors to full tournament partnerships.

This tournament is one of Sarasota Rugby Club’s major annual fundraisers. With major improvements happening at our rugby field this year, every golfer, sponsor and supporter helps us continue building the future of Sarasota Rugby and growing the game in our community.

A lot goes into building and growing a rugby club, and projects like this don’t happen without the people behind it.

Every sponsor. Every donation. Every tournament and event we put on. Every player, supporter and volunteer who gives their time — this is what it helps build.

Work is underway at the pitch and we’re excited to keep improving the home of Sarasota Rugby.

It’s been a pretty damn good week to be part of Sarasota Rugby. 🏉🤙

From Draft Day at Raffurty’s Bar and Grill this weekend to wrapping up our summer beach rugby with a cookout last night, it’s been great getting the boys, friends and families together.

Big thanks to Raffurty’s for having us Saturday, and thank you to everyone who came out throughout the summer for beach rugby and joined us tonight. We were apparently too busy grilling, eating and hanging out to remember to take any pictures. 😂🍔🍻

Summer might be winding down, but Sarasota Rugby is just getting started.

Beach rugby is officially wrapping up for the summer, so tonight we’re trading the rugby ball for burgers and a few cold ones. 😂🍔🍻

Summer beach rugby is almost in the books, but we’ve still got a little sand left in us.

TONIGHT — 6:30 PM
📍 Siesta Key Main Beach

Come out for our last regular beach touch session of the summer. Rugby player, former player, never touched a rugby ball before — doesn’t matter. Everyone’s invited. Bring some water, bring some friends, and come have a runaround with us.

And don’t disappear after tonight… 👀

🔥 NEXT WEEK we’re wrapping up the summer with our Beach Rugby Cookout! Rugby, food, drinks, beach, and one last get-together before we trade the sand back in for the pitch.
