Amiya Turns In a Surprise Performance! 🔥

Coming off the same 8 weeks of lower-work training as Hailey and Quinn, Amiya also turned in a surprise performance on the competition platform.

After looking strong in warmups, Amiya opened with a new competition PR of 64kg and made it easily. She then took two close attempts at 66kg, showing that an even bigger sn**ch is right around the corner.

In the clean & jerk, Amiya continued to look strong, making 68kg and 70kg for a 134kg total.

Coming off a lighter training phase, these numbers were better than expected and are a great sign of what’s to come as training starts to build back up. 💪

🔥 Hailey Makes Her Return! 🔥

After an outstanding performance at the USAW Youth National Championships, Hailey Sprenger made her return to the competition platform for what was intentionally an easy day.

Coming off a 2-week break followed by 8 weeks of light, steadily progressing training, Hailey wasn't looking to chase PRs just yet. Weighing barely over the 49kg limit, she put together a solid performance with:
🏋️ Sn**ch: 49kg
💪 Clean & Jerk: 62kg
🔥 Total: 111kg

The goal was simply to get back on the platform, get some competition reps, and see where she was after the extended recovery and lighter training phase.

Now the easy work is done. It's time to start building back up and working toward new PRs. 💪

🔥 Sophia Sets a New PR! 🔥

Fresh off the Ohio WSO Championships, Sophia Mathews put in another solid day of work at the Ann Arbor Youth Series—and came away with a new personal best in the clean & jerk!

🏋️ Sn**ch: 27kg
💪 Clean & Jerk: 40kg PR
🔥 Total: 67kg

Sophia has been working through several technique changes since the WSO Championships, making adjustments to her positions and movement. Despite those changes, she looked comfortable and confident on the platform.

The changes are starting to come together, and a new 40kg clean & jerk PR is a great sign of what's to come!

🔥 Charli Goes 6-for-6! 🔥

Just two weeks after competing at the Ohio WSO Championships, Charli Grueshaber (38kg) was back on the platform at the Ann Arbor Youth Series—and this time she put together her first-ever 6-for-6 performance!

Charli set new PRs across the board, finishing with:
🏋️ Sn**ch: 28kg PR
💪 Clean & Jerk: 36kg PR
🔥 Total: 64kg PR

The coaches have been working with Charli to refine her technique and improve her positions so she can take full advantage of her natural speed and strength.

Looks like it's working.

🔥 Quinn Keeps Moving Forward!

Today at the Ann Arbor Youth Series, Quinn Drury put together a perfect 6-for-6 performance, setting new PRs in the sn**ch (28kg) and total (64kg) while tying her PR in the clean & jerk (36kg).

What's especially impressive is that Quinn is coming off back-to-back recovery phases following Nationals. After two periods of lighter training, we would normally expect her to be around 90–95% of her best lifts.

Instead, Quinn went out and set two new PRs.

That wasn't necessarily expected—and it's a great sign that she's ready to start pushing the training back up and see what she can do with some heavier work.

💪 Another Strong Day for Sophia!

Lifting in just her fourth meet ever, Sophia Mathews put together a great performance at the Ohio WSO Championships, going 4-for-6 and finishing with new State Records in the sn**ch, clean & jerk, and total.

Sophia opened the sn**ch with 26kg, missed 27kg on her second attempt, then came back and made it solidly on her third.

In the clean & jerk, Sophia went 2-for-3, making 36kg and 38kg before narrowly missing a new 40kg PR on her final attempt.

Sophia finished with a silver medal 🥈 in the 15U 45kg class and a bronze medal 🥉 in the open category in the heavier 49kg class!

Another strong performance and another step forward for Sophia as she continues to gain experience on the competition platform. Great job, Sophia! 💪

🥈 Solid Day for Charli!

Lifting in just her third meet ever, Charli Grueshaber put in a solid day's work at the Ohio WSO Championships, competing in the 41kg class despite weighing just 37.5kg.

Charli had a rough start, missing her opening sn**ch before regrouping and coming back to make it on her second attempt. She then jumped to 27kg and made it with a great save.

In the clean & jerk, Charli made 32kg and 34kg before narrowly missing the jerk on a 36kg PR attempt after making a strong clean.

Charli finished the day with the silver medal 🥈.

Only three meets into her weightlifting career, Charli continues to gain valuable competition experience and show plenty of potential. Great job, Charli!

💪 Great First Meet for Dalton!

Lifting in his first meet ever, Dalton Howell (40kg) put together a great debut at the Ohio WSO Championships.

Dalton opened the sn**ch with a solid 15kg PR, giving himself a good start to the competition. He came very close to making 16kg on both his second and third attempts.

He came back strong in the clean & jerk, going a perfect 3-for-3 and finishing with 18kg.

It's not easy having your first competition be a two-platform contest, but Dalton handled the pressure well and showed a lot of promise in his first time on the competition platform.
