A note from Steve’s children, Monica, Steven, and Krista,

With great sadness, we are posting this message to let everyone know that our dad has passed away. As some of you may know, last September he was diagnosed with cancer. We did everything we could to fight the disease and care for dad. He passed away a week ago today in the comfort of his own home surrounded by the love of his three children. We are devastated by this loss. We know he was a good friend, and he was a wonderful father to us.

This weekend the Golden State Flycasters held our annual outing to Bishop California. It was an excellent event and very enjoyable fishing and socializing with fellow club members. Friday, I had the opportunity of conducting a nymphing clinic for a group of interested and enthusiastic anglers. We spent a couple hours on the river reviewing general nymphing techniques and then learning how Drift-Rite Indicators facilitate getting a good drift and detecting strikes. All participants caught fish – Icing on the cake! Feedback was positive both in what they learned and suggested modifications for future clinics.
It was a pleasure to lead the clinic. I look forward to future clinics.
