🏁 Racing under the lights in Austin, TX! 🌙

We spent yesterday racing with River City Quarter Midgets and it was a long, hot afternoon in the Texas heat. ☀️ But once the sun went down, it turned into a beautiful night for racing! ✨

Both boys drove incredibly well, made some great moves, and finished the night with a clean sweep! 🧹🏆 Four classes, four heat wins, and four main event wins! 💪

Saturday is done at the NASCAR Youth Series race at Richmond Raceway.

🔹 Ryan was coming off being sick and still isn’t quite back to his usual self. Add in the heat and he was tired every day. Even so, he drove well in his lower mains, fought hard, and missed transferring to the A Main by just two spots in both Junior Honda and Junior 160.

🔸 Connor just couldn’t catch a break all weekend. Racing is such a combination of luck, skill, and preparation. You can show up with the skill and preparation, but many times without a little luck things just don’t fall your way. And that’s exactly how his weekend went. After getting beat up on the track in both B Mains, he battled all the way to the end. We didn’t transfer with the Light 160 and missed the Senior Honda transfer by two spots.

The cars were good and both boys drove and fought hard until the last lap. That’s all we can ask of them. And honestly? It’s not like B main finishes at a national event are bad, we just wanted more.

The downside for Connor is that he didn’t improve on one of his other finishes for points, which was the goal this weekend. The upside? He has still had a stellar year. This was the first event all season where he hasn’t made the Senior Honda A Main - and that’s something worth being proud of. 👏

And maybe that’s the hard part about reaching goals. Once you get there, you move the goalpost. What you would have been thrilled with in the past is no longer enough, not because it isn’t an accomplishment, but because you know you’re capable of more.

But that’s why we set goals in the first place. They give us something to work for, something to chase, and eventually, something to achieve.

So we’ll keep pushing. 💪

Keep working. 🔧

Keep learning. ✍️

And keep chasing those goals and checkereds. 🎯🏁
