We’re getting a lot of calls about the Monarch Crest. We get it – it’s warm, the ski area closed back in March, and from town, it looks clear up high. The reality is, though, the Crest isn’t good to go. There’s snow, there’s mud, there’s snow that is going to be mud very soon, and there are quite a few downed trees on some of the descents.
We’ve also had several calls asking about conditions where folks haven’t been too happy about the truth. We promise we’re giving you the up-to-date conditions that we have.
Behind the scenes, we’re collaborating with land managers and other user groups, clearing trees off the trails, and checking the conditions at the 🍑 crack of dawn before work so that we can give you accurate reports. We promise that we want to open shuttles as soon as we can and we will let you know when that is. We’re all stoked for the alpine season to be in full effect, but we need just a bit more time. We’ve already been seeing trail damage and braiding out there, so let’s all be good stewards and give the high country the time it needs. Current alpine trails that are ready to go are below!
