Hitters Count Training Facility Hitters Count is the the finest indoor Baseball & Softball training facility in the state of Maine.

We are an indoor training facility for baseball & softball players of all skillsets. We offer cage rentals, private instruction, membership programs and much more! We also book events and work with organizations on bulk reservations on a case by case basis. This facility is also the Official Training Home of the Southern Maine River Rats travel baseball/softball organizations.

🥎 Hitters Count Summer Softball Camp 🥎

Join us this summer for an exciting opportunity to learn, compete, and grow your game at the Hitters Count Summer Softball Camp! Designed for athletes ages 7–12, this camp focuses on developing all five tools of the game through high-energy instruction, skill development, and fun competition in a positive learning environment.

Campers will receive hands-on coaching in hitting, fielding, throwing, baserunning, and overall softball fundamentals while building confidence and improving their knowledge of the game. Sessions will be led by Coach Duane Romano, SMCC Softball Coach and Director of Softball at Hitters Count Training Facility.

📅 Camp Dates:
Camp 1: July 21–22 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

⚾ 2027 SM KITS BASEBALL PROGRAM – OPEN ENROLLMENT IS NOW LIVE ⚾

After another incredible season, we are excited to officially announce our 2027 SM KITS Baseball Program!

🚨 NEW FOR 2027 🚨

To provide more age-appropriate instruction and player development, SM KITS will now feature TWO divisions:

⚾ SM KITS Minor League (Ages 5-7)
• Practices Only
• Focus on fundamentals, coordination, confidence building, and baseball basics
• HARD CAP: 20 Players

⚾ SM KITS Major League (Ages 8-10)
• More advanced developmental environment
• Includes controlled scrimmages/play dates in late April & early May
• HARD CAP: 20 Players

Our goal with this change is simple:
➡️ Better practice plans
➡️ Better age-specific instruction
➡️ Better overall player development

Both programs will feature high-energy instruction from the SM River Rats & Hitters Count staff throughout the winter months.

⚠️ VERY LIMITED ROSTER SPOTS AVAILABLE ⚠️

Each division is STRICTLY capped at 20 players and we fully expect these groups to fill quickly.

Hitters Count April Vacation Clinics ⚾🥎

Looking for a fun, energetic way to keep your player active and improving over April break? Come join us at Hitters Count for two action-packed clinics designed to build confidence, sharpen skills, and keep kids engaged in a positive environment!

Our softball (April 20th & 21st) and baseball (April 22nd & 23rd) clinics will run from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with sessions held at S**o Middle School (softball) and S**o Little League Field (baseball). Each clinic is $65 per player, and in the event of bad weather, we’ll move indoors to Hitters Count Training Facility so no one misses out.

These clinics are built around fast-paced, high-energy station work that keeps players moving, learning, and having fun. Athletes will rotate through a variety of drills focused on:

Hitting fundamentals (stance, swing mechanics, and approach)
Bat speed & power development
Hand-eye coordination and timing drills
Situational hitting & competition games
Fun challenges and contests to keep players engaged

Our goal is to create an environment where players can learn, compete, and enjoy the game, all while getting tons of quality reps. Whether your athlete is looking to improve their swing, build confidence at the plate, or just have a great time with friends during vacation week, this clinic is a perfect fit.
