Sam Dexter is coming to Hitters Count!
Sam is a professional baseball player and one of the most accomplished players in University of Southern Maine baseball history.
A native of Oakland, Maine, Dexter played four seasons at USM (2013–2016), establishing himself as one of the nation's top collegiate players. During his career, he earned numerous honors, including:
- 2015 NCAA Division III National Player of the Year (ABCA Gold Bat Award)
- Two-time First Team All-American
- Four-time First Team All-Little East Conference selection
- 2015 & 2016 Little East Conference Player of the Year
- 2013 NCAA Division III College World Series appearance
- USM Baseball Hall of Fame inductee (2022)
- Little East Conference Hall of Fame inductee (2024)
Dexter finished his collegiate career with a .386 batting average and became just the second player in NCAA Division III history to record 300 career hits.
Following his outstanding collegiate career, Dexter was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 23rd round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He spent two seasons in the White Sox minor league system before continuing his professional career in independent baseball, including several seasons with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the American Association.
With extensive experience at both the collegiate and professional levels, Dexter brings valuable knowledge of hitting, defensive fundamentals, infield play, and the preparation required to compete at the next level.
Sam will be joining Hitters Count Training Facility over the next two months, offering private lessons and instructional clinics for baseball players looking to improve their skills and learn from an accomplished professional player.
