Olympic gold… for your fencing coach?

At the 1900 Paris Olympics, fencing featured a rare ‘Masters’ Foil’ event - one of the few times professional coaches competed. Judged on their technique rather than just results, France dominated, with Lucien Mérignac taking the gold. This was the last time there was an event held specifically for coaches!
