11-05-26 5:30PM ET : I have attempted to use LMS to try to find window applications that were already filed and I am pleased to announce that I was not able to find any breaches. Unless you hear from me otherwise, I do feel that it is now safe to start filing translator applications in LMS. Please keep in mind that we do not know how the FCC is going to address the "post mortem" on this situation. Things that may be looked at include:
(1) Any policies regarding the handling of applications, especially since there was an easy method to view competing applications, and
(2) Any extension of the filing window.
I am thinking that there will definitely be at least about an 8 hour extension of the filing window due to the full outage. There are some who will be asking for longer (7 or more days).
also
(3) What about pending Channel 6 applications that could otherwise be granted during the filing window? Will grants be paused in the Video Division or will the Audio Division just ignore those grants and let the translator go through (since there is no longer the raw data to show which TV stations have been granted).

We'll see where all of this goes.

At 1:25PM ET: LMS is still down. No ETU. No news releases from the FCC (and I have not heard anything from staff yet). Keep in mind, while FCC.today may not be monitoring LMS right now, it is still monitoring EDOCS. So, if the FCC puts out a news release or public notice, it will show there.

Radio World article addressing the breach and REC's advocacy. The filing window is a competition and we need to make sure everyone is playing fair.

The FCC’s Licensing and Management System is currently out of service following an apparent glitch Wednesday that exposed more than 100 translator applications.

Update on the filing window and data breach.

LMS is currently completely down. I am guessing this is related to the data breach issue. This also means that eLMS/FCC.today/FCCdata are not updating. Also, we did not get a data dump from LMS last night so FCCdata and other systems may be behind a day.

Good morning from Riverton. As of early this morning, there is still a data breach for the filing window. I am obviously not going to describe where the breach is, but I can say that it still exists. I strongly suggest that no one file their window applications (you can "stage"/set them up, just don't hit "Certify") until all of the holes in LMS are plugged up. Staff has been re-notified this morning.

11/04/2026 10:40 ET : It appears that the FCC has suppressed the applications on LMS. That suppression has reflected on FCC.today. The applications will also not display in FCCdata until after the window is closed and the FCC lets the applications loose at the proper time.

Good morning from Riverton. It appears that as of this morning, the translator filing window has been compromised. All applications being filed are immediately showing. Normally, the applications are suppressed until after the close of the window.

In order to promote fairness in the filing window process and to assure that your applications are fully secure, we advise AGAINT filing at this time until this issue is resolved.

Likewise, in order to protect the confidentiality of our clients and to uphold the integrity of the filing window, we are holding off our filings until we receive guidance from the Media Bureau or are otherwise advised that the issue has been resolved.

10-29-26 15:00 EDT: REC announcement regarding upcoming 2026 NCE Reserved Band FM Translator Window.

We are unable to handle any more LPFM requests other than those who have already paid off an invoice for this past winow.
