There are a lot of places I love, but this will always feel the most natural to meā€¦
Hiking boots on.
A backpack on my back.
A gun in my hands.
And more Alaska country ahead of me than I could ever explore in a lifetime.

Out here, life feels simple. The noise disappears. The things that seemed so important suddenly arenā€™t. Itā€™s just the next ridge, the next mile, the weather rolling in, and the reminder of how small we really are in a world this big.

I think we all have a place where we feel most like ourselves. Where we donā€™t have to force it, prove anything, or be anything for anyone else.

This is mine. Especially when I have Lindsay Persico by my side and cool women who want to do this with me.
And I hope everyone finds that.

Whatever makes you feel alive and completely present, go find more of it. Life is too short to spend it disconnected from the things that make you feel most like you.

A few snapshots from a week thatā€™s really hard to put into words.
Women showed up from all over the country with different stories, different experience levels, and different reasons for saying yes.

And then we hiked. We laughed. We cried. We learned new things. We got dirty. We stayed up too late. We pushed ourselves. We made new friends. And somewhere in between all of it, a bunch of strangers started feeling a whole lot like family.

This is why I keep doing these retreats!

Not just because of the views (althoughā€¦ šŸ˜), but because thereā€™s something pretty special about getting women together in the wilderness and watching what happens.

I first fell in love with southwest Alaska while working at Alaska Rainbow Lodge with Adam. We were newly married and I declined my Air Traffic Control job offer with the FAA to enjoy the simple life of remote Alaska and floatplanes. Now over 10 years later I enjoy still getting to visit and bring my friends! This lodge is like family to us. The flights are incredible, the people are the best, and the fishing is pretty awesome too. Thanks for a great time Chip Ferguson and Amanda Ferguson !

Strong will always be > skinny. Our bodies can be incredible tools and machines if we use them!
Muscle is your best friend.
Lift weights.
Eat real food.
Quit starving and shrinking yourself.
Build a dump truck and strong legs. Those muscles are big movers!
Teach your daughters to love their bodies and make them stronger.
Teach your sons to understand this too and love imperfect women.

We live in a crazy world where beauty standards are becoming more and more dangerous. Avoid the trap!
