Update: This map has been downloaded 84 times. This will really maike a difference to the small towns like Silver Lake and Paisley.
Thank you all for your visit to this site. Have fun and be safe.
****** A FREE MAP BUNDLE FOR YOU
This is a great 5 map bundle. Silver Lake to Paisley. If you have never been to the Pioneer Saloon in Paisly and had their pizza you have missed out. You can dry camp just south of the Cowboy Dinner Tree in an abandoned Forest Service Campground, (on map #3). From there you can ride through the Fremont-Winema National Forest to Paisley. If you plan on eating at the Cowboy Dinner Tree, you will need to make reservations now.
Be sure to visit Bald Butte (map #4).
You can ride SxSs into Silver Lake from camp. The paved road is open to SxSs.
If you can plan the ride at the right time of year, the wildflowers are amazing.
Have Fun.

2/14/2026 Update:
I am still working on the Sumpter maps. The attached picture shows how the map is going to look. For those of you that have created maps you will appreciate the time it takes to create a smooth curve and keep the track/line in the center of the road. Lots of curves on the Sumpter maps.

This page is getting a lot of new followers.
Thank you all for that.
For those of you that have downloaded the set of Sumpter maps, there is a new set of maps for Sumpter that I am working on. The new set will have more routes and the accuracy of the tracks/blue lines, is being greatly improved. The tracks will be in the center of the routes on the maps. That means stone, cold accuracy at the intersection. The corners and curves are going to be spot on.
The new version of the maps will be free to all of you that have the Sumpter maps on your devices already. Avenza will notify you when the updated maps are available. The update is free so take advantage of the opportunity.
For those of you that have never been to Sumpter, you need to make reservations at a hotel or one of the RV Parks for this coming summer. There is so much to see there. I recommend making this at least a 3-day adventure.
The new set of maps will have over 485 miles of routes.
I will post on this site as soon as the new set of maps are available in the Avenza Map Store.
Have you checkout the new Cresent, Oregon to Oakridge map bundle? Over 800 miles of exploring on these maps.
Have a good winter. Make your reservations for sumpter now.
Take care
Brent

Have Fun and be Safe.
Keep in mind, Junction Sno-Park is closed to SxSs from November 1st to May 31st. Most of the roads in the area are also closed to SxSs. You will need a snowmobile map to identify the snowmobile routes.
You ride at your own risk.

------------- HEADS UP-----------
Good afternoon.
I have finished the Crescent to Oakridge 5-map collection. It has been uploaded to the Avenza Map Store. It should be available 10/20, or later in the week. There are 850 miles of OHV/SxS routes on the maps. see picture.
The map bundle is $19.99. The price will go up at the end of the year.
We have ridden into Oakridge from the south with no issues.
There are some roads near Crescent Junction and Oakridge that are used for these routes that are open to STREET LEGAL VEHICLES ONLY. I have talked to both Ranger Districts, Crescent and Oakridge, and although they cannot tell you that it is okay to use those roads, they are working on getting those roads open to ALL VEHICLES. So, until that happens, you could get a ticket if you are on those roads. Not likely, but possible.
It is legal to ride on the Oakridge streets that are marked on the map. The speed limit in Oakridge is 25 MPH.
Make sure that you have all of the MANDATORY fire safety equipment with you. Also, a chainsaw may be needed to clear any downed trees. Check with the Forest Service for chainsaw
restrictions.
Something good to remember. SxSs are not allowed on Snowmobile trails, groomed or un-groomed. Volunteers take care of their trails so please be curious/thoughtful and give them a break. Their season is short. There are plenty of other places to ride in the snow. Get a snowmobile map so you can better avoid their trails. Thanks.
Have Fun, be Courteous, and Be Safe.
Brent.

Brandon, Bonnie, Elsie and I had a great time riding out of Silver Lake this past weekend, Friday 9/26- Saturday 9/27.
Friday's ride we rode through the Fremont Winema National Forest to the town of Paisley. You can't go to Paisley without having lunch at the historic Pioneer Saloon. (A PBS video: https://www.pbs.org/video/the-oldest-bar-in-oregon-paisleys-pioneer-saloon-k3gmom/ )
If you go, make sure you try their amazing pizza.
Our ride had a stop at the Fremont Point Lookout, Bald Butte Lookout, Ingram Cabin, and Thompson Reservoir. Total, 150+ miles.
Saturday's ride we headed to the southwest to the Calimus Butte Lookout. This was another 150+ mile day. We rode for miles through the burned areas of the fire a few years ago. Very interesting to see. This was the first time that I had ridden this route to the Calimus lookout. To my surprise there were 3 river crossings on the route. All of which are legal crossings that the ranchers use. The water levels were very low, so the crossings were very easily doable.
We also stopped at 'Head of the River'. The headwaters of the Williamson River. This is a must see.
We staged in the area 1.25 miles south of the Cowboy Dinner Tree on East Bay Rd.
Here is a link to the Avenza 9-map Collection that we used for the ride. https://store.avenza.com/products/central-oregon-sxs-where-to-ride-silver-lake-adventure-club-ride-2021-central-oregon-sxs-where-to-ride-map?utm_source=vendor_link

A 4-minute video of one of the routes from our ride last weekend out of Oakridge. I know videos are boring, but I thought you might just want to watch a minute or two of it. This was an awesome 8-mile-long road.
The ride was supposed to start in Crescent, but due to Friday's expansion of the Emigrant fire closure boundary, we had to stage in Oakridge.
I am still working on the Avenza Map bundle for the Crescent to Oakridge ride. This ride doesn't look like it is going to be possible this year. Maybe a little earlier in the year in 2026, we will try again.

We had a great weekend riding out of Oakridge. We road from our motel. Oakridge Inn and Suites. 2 days, 200 miles. Perfect weather for riding with our friends.

Elsie and I, Brandon and Bonnie, and Kevin spent last weekend in Oakridge to do some riding to the south from our motel. We stayed at the Oakridge Inn and Suites at the west end of town. They have a gravel parking lot that can handle large toy haulers and trailers. You can ride to the forest from the parking lot.

Elsie and I went for a day ride with Brandon and Bonnie from 6 Mile Sno-Park to Crescent Junction a couple weeks ago. Naturally, we went to Manley's for broasted chicken for lunch. The weather was perfect for a Sunday ride. You can also ride to Diamond Lake for lunch if you would like. The QR code is for the Avenza 6-Map bundle. The maps cost $19.99
Have fun and be safe.

Hope you are all enjoying some great summer adventures.
The 2510 to the Crack in the Ground, is a great ride to add to your map collection. This 4-map collection ($9.99) contains 230 miles of routes. This is a great collection to use for a 3-day weekend.
You can stage out of the 2510 staging area in the East Fort Rock OHV Trail System. The staging area is a 30-mile drive east of Bend.
The South Lava staging area/campground in the southwest corner of the East Fort Rock OHV area is a great place to spend the weekend. It is located just north of the South Ice Cave on Forest Road 2248.
Sites to visit using these maps: The South Ice Cave, Plot Butte, Quartz Mountain, Oregon's Largest Juniper Tree, Derrick Cave, The Old Homestead in The Devils Garden, The Fort Rock Monument, the historic town of Fort Rock (check out the Fort Rock Museum), Crack in the Ground, Christmas Valley.
