🥊 Over 40 and learning to box? Give yourself time to learn the movement before chasing the power.
Feeling athletic again starts with control—knowing where your feet belong, how to move your body, and how to finish each punch balanced.
At Victory Boxing, these fundamentals set the foundation:
👟 Your stance: Feet staggered, knees soft, and a comfortable base. Stay balanced enough to move in any direction.
🛡️ Your guard: Chin tucked, eyes forward, hands protecting your face. Bring each punch back home.
🎯 The jab: Send your lead hand straight out and straight back. Keep your other hand up and avoid reaching yourself off balance.
🔄 The cross: Turn your rear hip and let your rear foot pivot with it. Your body helps drive the punch—your arm shouldn’t do all the work.
💪 The lead hook: Rotate through your hips and torso with a bent elbow. Keep your wrist straight and aligned with your forearm.
✅ The reset: Return to your guard and regain your stance after every combination. Finishing balanced matters just as much as landing the punch.
You don’t have to look sharp on day one. Controlled, repeatable practice builds the coordination and confidence that make boxing feel more natural.
Control first. Speed and power follow. 🥊
