More about Sam and Olivia✨✨
Sam (she/they): Returning to the body and breath, again and again, through all its seasons, is the practice I most want to share. I remain committed to honoring the lineages and teachings of South Asia, from whom we have the privilege of this practice, and to the ongoing, unfinished work of holding that with care. What I hope to offer as a teacher is simple, and it is the thing my name has been telling me all along: a little steadiness, a little grounding, and the sense that you are not moving through it alone. Steadiness and company. Sama, in both of its meanings. I would be honored to practice alongside you.
Olivia (she/her): My first yoga class was over 20 years ago, but it took a long while for yoga to become a regular part of my life. This journey continues to remind me that the best things unfold in their own time—and how much is possible when we give ourselves space to explore without aiming to get to a particular place. I enjoy crafting practices that feel like a journey—from engaging the body and cultivating energy to slowing down, listening inward, and making space for the nervous system to settle. I’m especially drawn to creating spaces where people can come back to themselves, trust their embodied wisdom and meet themselves and others with curiosity, presence, and play. I believe that each person brings their unique body, history, and experience to the practice. It’s an honor to be a part of the BYMC community, sharing these practices while continuing to learn within the community and with my teachers.
