🥋 This Month’s Lesson: It’s Not Bullying, But It’s a Great Example!

While bullying isn’t our lesson this month, this is a great example of how we can help someone who is being bullied.

We teach our students that standing up for others, showing kindness, and making sure no one feels alone can make a BIG difference. 💙

If you see someone being bullied, you don’t have to be a superhero—you just need to speak up, include them, get an adult, and show them they’re not alone.

Being a martial artist is about more than learning how to fight. It’s about having the courage to do what’s right. 🥋❤️

Construction work at the intersections of New Pinery and East Slifer Street and New Pinery and Collins Street is scheduled to begin next Monday (August 10, 2026).

From the city:

"Beginning next week, work will begin on the City's Signals Upgrade project at the Collins Street and Slifer Street intersections on New Pinery Road. Work will include the replacement of all traffic signal lighting and equipment in the referenced intersections. During construction, temporary signals will be placed as not to impede traffic flow. No long term road closures are anticipated for this project."

Please give yourself extra travel time so you can arrive on time for classes.

Congratulations for being named our Student of the Month!

He has shown incredible perseverance by training alongside older teammates, even though he is the youngest member of the team. He never gives up, works hard every class, and continues to grow with every lesson.

Your determination, positive attitude, and willingness to keep pushing yourself make you an outstanding example for your teammates. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and can't wait to see what you achieve next.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - AUGUST 4, 2026 5:00-7:30PM

We are excited to host a Superhero Themed National Night Out at Collipp Worden Park on August 4, 2026, from 5:00-7:30pm. Please come out and join us for a fun and free family event. As a part of this event, we are asking that you bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Portage Food Pantry, as they are in need of our support to help combat hunger within our community.
