I finally finished the choreography for the performance at Dance for the Memories June 27!

3 Speeds of dance - fast, faster, and sensible - and three styles of Polynesian dance: Tahitian, Hawaiian, and Samoan. I was inspired and challenged by a TikTok viral dance popular in the Pacific Islands.
Hope you will attend to see all the dance groups and raise awareness for Alzheimer's.

I hope to offer a six-week session to learn this dance after the Dance for the Memories event on June 27th. Location and time TBD

What I am working on! Love these viral videos and dance trends! BUT- but sure you know the culture and what you are dancing about before performing.

BUT- If dancing for yourself or the joy of it… GO FOR IT, no matter your age or body.

Sometimes I think we select our study of dance for the costumes, LOL! Just be true to the culture, study more than the moves, be respectful, authentic and learn the crafts of the culture to make it yourself!

This is sooooo true!

There’s something magical that happens when you go from dancing alone to dancing together.
In a troupe, you’re not just expressing yourself, you’re weaving your energy into something bigger. You learn to trust, to blend, to move as one.
Different bodies, different souls, all coming together to tell one shared story through dance.
There’s nothing like stepping onto the floor knowing you’re part of something greater than yourself.
