Happy Mother’s Day from the Nola Hunt and Fish Crew!

We’re always thankful for these amazing women, but during alligator season, they spend a lot of time holding down the fort while we’re out in the marsh. Their patience, strength, and love never go unnoticed, and we’re beyond blessed to call them ours.

Our clients from up north may be used to this cold, but it stirs up a whole lotta chaos down here! 🥶
When temperatures drop in South Louisiana, alligators shift into survival mode.
Because they are cold-blooded, their metabolism slows way down. Gators move into deeper water where temperatures stay more stable and they stop feeding as much to conserve energy.
During hard cold snaps, they may stick just the tip of their snout above the water to breathe or settle into mud and vegetation and stay nearly motionless. It is not true hibernation, but it helps them ride out the cold.
The marsh may look quiet in winter, but the gators are still there, waiting on warmer days. 🐊
