We joined the entire Tomales High School for a day at Heart's Desire Beach (at Tomales Bay State Park) last Friday and brought our fleet of kayaks and SUPs for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.

As a small local business, events like these mean the world to us. We believe everyone should have a chance to experience the magic of Tomales Bay, and we're always excited when we can help make that happen for our local schools and youth programs.

Thanks to the students, teachers, and staff for making it such a memorable day!

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Point Reyes Adventure Co. online merch store!

This first round of original designs was inspired by some of our favorite things out here: sea kayaks, coastal trails, and bioluminescence.

We chose to begin with a print-on-demand model because as a small owner-operated business, it allows us to create without overproducing inventory or creating unnecessary waste. It also gives us the freedom to slowly release new ideas and designs over time.

That being said, supporting local businesses and artists is also really important to us, and we’re planning to collaborate with local folks on future projects and limited-run items later this year. 🙌

The nights on Tomales Bay have been incredible lately! ✨

Last Monday night even brought us a little rain and some wonderfully dramatic skies to go with the bioluminescence. 🌌

Caves. Secret Beaches. Amazing food.

Our favorite low-tide adventure returns May 17th.

This special hiking tour only happens a few times each year when the tides line up just right, giving us access to incredible hidden features along the coast before wrapping up with an amazing breakfast made for us by the farmer and owner of the Ranch at Sonoma Mountain, John Kopshever.

This summer we’re partnering again with LandPaths to lead two 4-day teen kayaking trips down the Russian River to the coast!

Paddle with Pride (June 15–18)
Teen River Trek (June 22–25)

Over four days, participants travel down the river together toward the coast. Learning paddling skills, camping along the way, exploring the ecosystem, and spending the entire time outdoors as a group.

Last year’s trips were such a highlight for us and we’re really looking forward to being part of them again.

We love being part of the KWMR - West Marin Community Radio family through our show, the West Marin Naturalist Hour, and right now it’s pledge drive season!

Between April 18th and May 1st, the station is raising $150,000 to keep community-powered radio going strong during a time when funding sources for small independent stations are shifting and listener support matters more than ever.

This Earth Day we’re celebrating 50 years of the California Coastal Act, one of the reasons California’s shoreline remains public, protected, and shared.

That legacy connects directly to Chicken Ranch Beach, where Marks v. Whitney helped establish that the coast should be cared for not only as a resource, but as a place for people, wildlife, and future generations.

Grateful to the many people who helped make that vision possible.
