What an incredible weekend. The 5th annual Daegan Page Hero's Scramble was a HUGE success with 378 golfers playing in the 3 day event. This would not have been possible without the amazing support of all of our sponsors, individual donations, volunteers and all those that took part in this event. So a HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL.
I would also like to thank our Legends Sponsors for their support: Woodhouse, John and Liz Rodis from Maaco, Bunge, the Hill Family, Ludacka Wealth, and Mike McCabe. Each donated $5,000 to the cause. Our $2,600 Warriors Sponsors; Ronco Construction, Larry Vogler Trucking and Kiewit had 4 teams donating a total of $7,500. All the Hero's Sponsors who each contributed $1,300: Local 16 Plumbers Union, K O Roofing, Premiere Shortline USA, Cormaci Construction, DLR Group, Beaver Lubricants, Berry Law Firm, Janssen Kuenle of Plattsmouth, Silvia Poutre from Better Homes and Garden, Lazear Financial, Next Era Energy, Owen Enterprises and Bob Vance from Farmers Insurance.
Cannot thank enough the Bennet Family for again bringing in the 13 Hero's Semi. Barnhart Cranes for displaying the American Flag for all to see from miles away. Ben and Morgan Evers from Farm Focused for all the swag, merchandise and big ass smoker. The smoked meats were amazing. Bravo Zulu and the Lincoln Parachute Club for the AR 15 golf ball launcher. Unfortunately it was too windy for them the jump onto the course. Special thanks to Tanner Sovereign and his band for the amazing concert on Saturday night.
We had over 80 Patriot and Hole Sponsors, with donations ranging from $250 up to $1000. The list goes on. Personal donations from $50 to $5,000. All the gift baskets and online auction items. It is beyond amazing the support we've received. This tournament gets bigger and better each year.
But we simply could not do this without all the help and support of all the volunteers. From putting all the gift baskets together for 5 separate raffles, registration, games on the course, selling merchandise, sorting out golf carts, cleaning up between sessions. The volunteers did an incredible job in helping make this tournament a very well organized event and a huge success.
Of course we need to thank the staff of Lake Ridge for all their hard work. They did a great job in preparing for this event and worked their butts of during the event. Great job team Lake Ridge. And a BIG SHOUT OUT to Travis and his team. The course was in great shape and so many previous players who've played in this event commented how great the course looked.
Can't forget to mention the planning committee: Brad "Skippy" McClatchey, Greg and Jenni Page, Kristine Thompson, Ben and Morgan Evers, Casey Smith, Matt Watson, Brenda Felthousen, Keri Crompton, Sarah Kansteiner and Deb Wagner. What a great group of people to work with.
And finally want to thank Greg and Jenni Page and Wendy and Craig Adelson for giving us this opportunity to host this tournament. They've let ALL of us into their lives since that tragic event in Afghanistan on Aug 26, 2021 and I am truly honored and extremely proud to be a part of this. We shall never forget Daegan and the sacrifice he made for ALL of us. Daegan has brought all of us and this community closer. He may be gone, but he lives on through all of us.
