All of the PFSC programs are possible because of our volunteers. Each member is required to complete 6 volunteer hours, but to fully support everything we offer our skaters, our club really needs members to aim for 10 hours this season.
There are lots of ways to help, and many require just an hour or two. You can volunteer at competitions as a runner, ice monitor, announcer, or registration volunteer; help with event setup, food, or hospitality; coach at Schenley; or take on a larger club role. Skaters can help fulfill many of your family’s volunteer hours, too! Most skaters can be runners at competitions, coach at Schenley, or help set up and clean up for events (alongside a parent or guardian).
Members who do not complete the required 6 hours are assessed $25 per unfulfilled hour to remain in good standing, but what truly helps our club isn’t the fee. It’s your time.
Volunteering directly supports our athletes, helps us continue providing these programs and benefits, and is one of the best ways to meet other PFSC families.
