When I first opened my gym, a big part of our community was moms.

A lot of them were in that stage of life with younger kids at home, trying to carve out a little time for themselves in the middle of everything else.

Over the years, I’ve noticed something interesting… that group has shifted. Many of those same moms now have older kids. Some are back in the workforce, some are more involved in school and activities, and life just looks different for them now.

But I also notice I don’t see as many new moms walking through the doors like I used to.

It makes me wonder… are more moms heading right back into work after having a baby? Do we have fewer stay at home moms in this season compared to before?

And more importantly, I keep coming back to this question:

What are moms doing right now to stay active and healthy?

Because as moms, it is so easy to put yourself last. The kids, the house, the job, the schedule… everything else seems to come first.

But I often wonder is that actually what is best for our families long term?

When you are healthier, stronger, and feeling better, everything else tends to function better too.

So I am genuinely curious if you are a mom reading this, what are you doing to prioritize your own health?

How are you fitting it in? What is working for you right now in this season of life?

One of the best things I hear from members when they walk through our doors is:

“This is the best part of my day.”

I heard those exact words today from a member who has been doing private training with me for the past three years.

Honestly, that means more to me than they probably realize.

We all have struggles. Work can be stressful. Family life can be challenging. Unexpected problems pop up when we least expect them. Life isn’t always easy.

Sometimes it’s nice to step away from it all for an hour. Turn off the phone. Close the laptop. Stop thinking about the to-do list.

Just move.

Get a good workout in. Clear your mind. Take care of yourself.

While we can’t promise your problems will disappear, we can promise you’ll leave feeling stronger, more energized, and better equipped to handle whatever the rest of the day brings.

For many people, fitness isn’t just about losing weight or building muscle. It’s about having a place to reset, recharge, and invest in yourself.

As a gym owner and coach, hearing that Exalt Fitness is the best part of someone’s day reminds me why I started this journey in the first place. It’s not just about reps, sets, or workouts. It’s about helping people feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally.

If Exalt Fitness can be that place for you, we’re grateful to be part of your journey.

What percentage of Americans between the ages of 30 and 60 are actually healthy?

The answer might surprise you.

According to the CDC, only about 24% of adults meet the recommended guidelines for BOTH aerobic exercise and strength training. Even when looking at exercise alone, less than half of adults consistently meet the recommended activity levels.

Think about that for a moment.

Most people aren’t headed toward a healthier future. They’re headed toward more medications, more aches and pains, lower energy, increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, loss of independence, and a reduced quality of life.

The scary part is that the future you’re heading toward is largely determined by the habits you’re practicing right now.

If nothing changes, don’t expect anything to change.

The good news? You don’t need to overhaul your entire life today.

Start with one simple habit:

Go for a 20-minute walk every day.

That’s it.

Not because walking is magical, but because consistency is.

A daily walk can improve cardiovascular health, help manage weight, reduce stress, improve blood sugar control, and often becomes the gateway to other healthy habits.

Five years from now, you’ll either be thankful you started making small changes today, or you’ll wish you had.

Your future health isn’t determined by one perfect workout or one perfect meal.

It’s determined by what you repeatedly do.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or aren’t sure where to start, that’s okay. You don’t have to figure it out on your own.

At Exalt Fitness, we’re here to help. Whether you need accountability, motivation, guidance, or simply a supportive community, we’d love to help you take that first step toward a healthier future.

Picture a women-over-50 class.

One member is coming back from a knee replacement.

One has been lifting for twenty years.

One is strong but terrified of jumping.

One moves well but has no engine.

Same niche.

Not the same training needs.

That’s the piece most “niche down” advice misses.

A niche tells you who walks in the door.

Levels tell your coaches what each person actually needs when they do.

Every niche needs a MAP.

🇺🇸 MURPH is done… now recovery begins. 💪

Whether you crushed it Rx, modified it, partnered up, or just survived 😅 — your body is going to need some extra attention over the next few days. Here are a few ways to recover well after MURPH:

✅ Hydrate more than usual
You likely lost more fluids than you realized. Add electrolytes if needed.

✅ Eat protein + carbs
Your muscles need fuel to repair and recover. Don’t skip meals today.

✅ Move tomorrow
Light movement, walking, stretching, easy biking, or mobility work will help more than laying on the couch all day.

✅ Sleep
The best recovery tool there is. Your body does the real repair work while you rest.

✅ Don’t panic about soreness 😅
Those stairs, sitting on the toilet, and lowering yourself into a chair may feel personal for a couple days.

Most importantly — remember WHY we do MURPH. Today wasn’t just about fitness. It was about honoring sacrifice, pushing through discomfort, and remembering those who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸❤️

Proud of everyone who showed up today.

‘Twas the Night Before Murph 🇺🇸💪

‘Twas the night before Murph, and all through the gym,
Not a coach was relaxing, the lights still were dim.
The pull-up bars waited with terrible grace,
While athletes questioned each life choice they’d made in this place.

The vests were laid out by the whiteboard with care,
In hopes that good pacing soon would be there.
Some stretching their shoulders, some rolling their backs,
Some googling quickly: “How to survive Murph attacks.”

Then morning arrives with excitement and dread,
“Just partition the reps!” every veteran said.
One mile to start and one mile to end,
With push-ups and squats that refuse to befriend.

A hundred pull-ups that humble the strong,
Two hundred push-ups that feel way too long.
Three hundred squats till your legs start to shake,
And somehow your coach says, “You’re doing great!”

But beyond all the sweat and the soreness and pain,
This workout was built to remember a name.
To honor the brave who gave all they could give,
So the rest of us here would be free to live.

So tomorrow when lungs burn and hands start to tear,
Remember the sacrifice carried with care.
Keep our fallen veterans close in your heart,
For courage and service set them apart.

We laugh, we grind, and together we push through,
Because freedom was purchased by far more than a WOD or two. 🇺🇸

See you all tomorrow. Hydrate tonight… and maybe say a small prayer for your arms. 💀💪

One of the top 3 reasons people sit down with me to talk about starting at the gym isn’t just about weight loss.

It’s about wanting to move better.
Feel better.
Live better.

People want to:
• Play with their kids or grandkids without getting worn out
• Do yard work or house projects without being sore for days
• Bend down, pick things up, and move through life confidently
• Look ahead 20, 30, 40 years and not see a steady decline in their movement and independence

That matters. And honestly, that’s one of the things we do best at Exalt Fitness.

We focus on movements that actually translate into real life.
Squatting.
Picking things up safely.
Getting up and down off the floor.
Lifting things overhead.
Building strength, balance, and confidence in everyday movement.

Machines can absolutely have value, but most day to day life doesn’t happen sitting in a machine. Real life happens carrying groceries, gardening, climbing stairs, getting off the ground, playing with your kids, and staying active as you age.

That’s why we use movements and training styles that prepare you for LIFE.

We meet people where they are, whether you’re just getting started, dealing with aches and pains, or simply wanting to stay active for the long haul.

If your goal is to move better, feel stronger, and continue doing the things you love for years to come, come sit down with us. We’d love to help you build a plan and get you moving forward.

One of the top 3 concerns I hear from people who want to start at the gym is this:

“I’m nervous about getting hurt.”

And honestly… most of the time it’s because they’ve been hurt before.

Maybe it was a group class where they were pushed into movements they weren’t ready for.
Maybe they were told to lift heavier than they should have.
Or maybe they walked into a gym with no guidance, no plan, and no clue how to properly use the equipment.

A lot of people also only train the things they enjoy doing.
But when we avoid the things we struggle with, those weaknesses don’t disappear… they usually get worse.
Over time that imbalance can lead to pain and injury.

That’s one of the things we do really well at Exalt Fitness.

We don’t just throw people into workouts and hope for the best.

We start with one-on-one sessions so we can truly learn the individual:
What are their strengths?
What are their weaknesses?
What limitations do they have?
What movements are safe and effective for THEM?

That way when they enter a group class, there’s no guessing.

We know where their starting point should be.
We know what movements fit them best.
We know what weights are appropriate.

Everything becomes a safe progression over time.

That’s also why we love the Level Method.
It gives every person a clear path forward based on THEIR fitness journey.
Not random workouts.
Not trying to keep up with the fittest person in the room.

Just steady progress, clear expectations, and confidence built over time.

Fitness should make you stronger… not leave you hurt.

At Exalt, we don’t believe in random workouts or one-size-fits-all fitness.

We use the Level Method because health and fitness should be about more than just sweating for an hour. It’s about building a system that helps real people get real results based on where they are right now.

Whether your goal is to lose weight, build strength, move without pain, gain confidence, or simply keep up with your kids, the Over Method allows us to meet you there and guide you forward with purpose.

Why it works:
• Personalized coaching, not guesswork
• Progress built on consistency, not extremes
• Strength, mobility, and longevity over quick fixes
• A focus on sustainable habits that carry over into everyday life

At Exalt, we’re not here to crush people for one workout. We’re here to help people overcome obstacles, outgrow limitations, and create lasting change.

Because fitness isn’t just about where you start.
It’s about what you can overcome.
