Phew.

What an amazing 3 days at Central Arizona Raceway and the Western World Championships.

13th tonight on the 30 lap Avanti Windows & Doors USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series A Main as it seemed we ran in a pack of cars all night. Cracked the top 10 but lost a few spots late with some hard racing.

As always, the Petty Performance Racing team prepared a great car and we got better all week. Thank you.

And it was heart warming to see so many old friends. People I grew up with and raced go-karts with in Tucson, racers and fans from the Manzanita Speedway days and so many people who listen to our show on the radio. Thank you all for stopping by, it made a challenging weekend much better.

Sprint car racing truly is a team sport.

The Petty Performance Racing team have 6 (SIX!) cars to prepare, maintain and setup each night, and they have done an amazing job. We’ve locked all 3 of our 360 cars into the Main Event and that says a lot about their hard work.

I’m so thankful for Jerry & Bev Petty, RJ Johnson, Billy & Joey Chester, Elijah, Jenks and everyone else who makes this team go. And let’s not forget my brother who has been cleaning all these cars all weekend… and loving it.

Now we’ll go out tonight and finish the Western World Championships strong!
