Class is donation-based, with all donations going toward The Attic Youth Center, an organization whose mission is to create opportunities for Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth to develop into healthy, independent, civic-minded adults within a safe and supportive community and to promote the acceptance of LGBTQ youth in society.

The Attic offers a wide range of programs and services designed to provide youth with the support and skills needed to transition into independent, thriving adults. The Attic strives to have a positive impact on all aspects of youth’s lives; to facilitate growth, empowerment, and resiliency; and to help youth find their voice, which is often silenced.

If you see Julie practicing at the studio over the next couple of weeks, wish her luck on her new adventure (she’s not moving too far!).

This week’s featured is a familiar face 😏

We are so excited to welcome Anna back to our teaching team! Anna completed her 200-hour teacher training at Hotbox in 2015 and taught at our studio in West Philly (iykyk) and brings a grounded energy with her.

Anna is taking over our gentle yoga classes in Manayunk on Sundays at 6:30 PM! Come beat the Sunday Scaries with Anna every Sunday!

I am a music nerd, so in my classes, you’ll hear a new playlist on rotation each week. Especially in a gentle class, music can be a powerful mindfulness tool to keep our attention in the room. And I do take requests (within reason 😂)!

What do you want students to feel when they leave your class?

I teach the gentle flow on Sunday evenings, so my goal is to help folks feel calmer, more relaxed, and a little less stressed about Monday. We start with movement and mobility, then breathing and deep release poses to regulate the nervous system. So honestly, if you fall asleep in savasana, I consider that a win.

One thing you want the Hotbox community to know:

If you want to deepen your practice - come to a gentle yoga class! We work anatomy, breath, and mindfulness techniques that can help level-up your power practice. And if you’re a beginner, it’s a great entry point! I promise you’ll leave feeling like a million bucks.

Pop Power Flow is BACK for the summer in Manayunk! 🎶🪩🕺💃

Led by the pop queen herself, Meg Pierce (with a special guest teacher Camille Young on Sunday, June 21!), this 60 minute class features a creative power yoga sequence to the soundtrack of some of our favorite pop icons.

Whether you know the featured artist or not, you’re guaranteed a fun and challenging practice.

This class is appropriate for all levels.
