Coach Harper has experienced basketball at the highest levels, and this is a great opportunity for our players to hear directly from someone who has been where they hope to go.
As a player at the University of Maryland, Coach Harper helped lead the Terps to the 2006 NCAA National Championship. She was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player after scoring 24 points in Maryland's semifinal win over North Carolina and then scored 16 points in the national championship victory over Duke.
Her playing career continued beyond college. Harper was selected 10th overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs and went on to play professionally in the WNBA and overseas in Italy, Turkey, and Russia. She also represented the United States, winning gold medals with USA Basketball at both the U18 and U21 levels.
Now, Coach Harper is leading the Towson University Women's Basketball program, where she has already helped build a winning program. In her first season, she led Towson to a 21-12 record, a share of the CAA Regular Season Championship, and a spot in the CAA Championship Game.
This isn't just an opportunity for basketball players. Coaches and parents will have the chance to hear from someone who has experienced the game as a player, professional, coach, and mentor.
