Take a breath. Take the long way.

Around here, some of the best moments are found along the roads, trails, and quiet stretches we usually pass without thinking.

The crunch of gravel.
The wind through the grass.
A familiar road leading somewhere worth going.

Not every route has to be the fastest or most direct. Sometimes taking a little more time gives us space to look around, clear our minds, and decide what comes next.

Wherever the path has taken you, there is still a place for you at BMCC.

Maybe your next step leads back to us this fall.

Fall term begins September 28.

Take a breath. Go with the flow.

Water moves through nearly every part of life in our region.

It runs through rivers and creeks, follows irrigation ditches, reaches across fields, and keeps a familiar rhythm through backyard sprinklers.

It supports the places we live, the work we do, and the communities we call home.

There is something reassuring about the way it keeps moving—not rushed, not still, just steady.

This week, take a moment to listen. Let the noise settle and allow yourself to move at a pace that feels right.

Steady still moves us forward.

NOW HIRING:

Blue Mountain Community College is looking for its next Director of College Relations.

There is always something happening at BMCC—from student success and campus events to workforce partnerships, community connections and the everyday moments that make this college special. We are looking for someone who can find those stories and share them with the people we serve.

The Director of College Relations leads BMCC’s social media, marketing, public relations and college-wide communications, helping tell the Timberwolf story both inside and outside the college.

We are looking for a creative, thoughtful communicator who understands our region and is ready to help BMCC continue building meaningful connections throughout Eastern Oregon.

Interested—or know someone who would be a great fit?

Take a breath. Find the open air.

This time of year usually invites us outside a little more. This year, it may take a little more intention.

Sometimes that looks like getting out of town. Sometimes it means heading for higher ground. Sometimes it is simply finding the place where the breeze feels a little lighter and the moment feels a little quieter. This is reset month.

Wherever that place is for you, we hope you find a little room to pause this week and enjoy the beauty of the region we call home.

And to everyone working hard this fire season to protect our communities, thank you. We are grateful for all you do.

250 years of America.
Flags waving on summer streets. Fireworks lighting up the night. Neighbors gathered, kids looking up, and that familiar feeling of home.

For 250 years, America’s story has been carried through moments like these — in small towns, busy cities, open fields, front porches, parades, and fireworks finales. In the dreams people chased, the work they put in, and the hope they kept passing forward.

This Fourth of July, we celebrate the beauty of community, the promise of what’s ahead, and the moments that remind us what it means to belong to something bigger.

BMCC will be closed Thursday, July 2, in observance of Independence Day. From all of us at BMCC, Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸

Let this moment stay.

The laughter while everyone gets into place. The small bits of chaos before the photo. The friends standing beside you. The people cheering from behind the camera. The feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself.

For the Class of 2026, this moment represents more than a photo.

It represents the year you finished.
The work you put in.
The people who helped you get here.
The pride of knowing you made it.

One day, you may look back at these photos and remember where you were standing, who was beside you, and what this moment felt like.

So before June moves on, take it in.

Let the pride stay.
Let the joy stay.
Let the feeling of accomplishment stay.

Class of 2026, you made it.

You Made It. Take It In.
The moment is here. Let yourself feel it.

Summer is calling.
And sometimes it sounds like birds chirping, water flowing, wind blowing, and fingers typing as you get one step ahead.

Summer Term at BMCC begins June 29. If you’re planning to take classes this summer, make sure you’re registered and ready to go.

This summer could be the season you move closer to your goal.

Some moments are too meaningful to rush past.

Commencement is full of them.

The deep breath before walking across the stage. The smile after hearing your name. The family member trying to hold it together. The friend cheering louder than anyone else. The hug that says more than words could.

These are the moments that stay with us.

They remind us of what was worked for, what was overcome, and what it means to have people standing beside you when the big moment finally arrives.

To the Class of 2026: we hope you hold onto this feeling.

The pride.
The joy.
The relief.
The love.
The proof that you made it here.

You Made It. Take It In.
The moment is here. Let yourself feel it.

COME ONNNN DOWNNNN… to BMCC!

Did that get your attention? Good. That was the whole point.

Our Community Education team is rolling something onto the lot this summer: the Eastern Oregon Summer Institute in Marketing.

This one is for the small business owner trying to get more eyes on what they do. The local organization wanting to tell its story better. The creative who knows they have good ideas but needs a little more strategy behind them. The person who keeps saying, “I should really learn more about marketing.”

Well, here it is. Right here at BMCC.

No gimmicks. No inflatable tube man required (However, those do have a purpose!). Just practical marketing tools, fresh ideas, and a summer opportunity worth pulling over for.
