🚨 NEW EQUIPMENT ALERT🚨
As promised, this week we’re bringing you a closer look at the Arsenal Strength Pendulum Squat!
Unlike a traditional squat or hack squat, the Pendulum Squat moves through an arc-like “scooping” path, allowing you to squat deep while staying fully supported through the back and shoulders.
⚙️ SETUP
🔹 Adjust depth (rear safety bar):
Higher = less range | Lower = deeper squat
🔹 Set foot platform:
Find a position that allows stable feet, heels down, and solid knee/hip alignment.
🔹 Load weight:
Start lighter than usual — resistance feels different than a standard squat.
📌 Note: This machine is counterbalanced, meaning there’s already ~20–40 lbs (9–18 kg) of built-in resistance even with no plates loaded.
🔹 Set shoulder pads:
Adjust so you can comfortably stand tall to unrack and re-rack.
👣 FOOT PLACEMENT
⬇️ Low = more quad emphasis
↔️ Middle = balanced quads + glutes (great starting point)
⬆️ High + Wide = more glutes, hamstrings + adductors (inner thighs)
Keep your heels planted, knees tracking comfortably with your toes, and stay controlled throughout each variation.
🔥 EX*****ON
Brace your core, stay supported, and descend under control following the machine’s natural arc — down, around, and up in a smooth “scoop.”
Drive through your whole foot, avoid bouncing, and maintain tension throughout the entire rep.
That unique pendulum motion gives you a supported squat with a different feel and resistance curve than a traditional squat or hack squat — and your legs will definitely know the difference. 🔥
