Based in Parksley VA, the Eastern Shore Street Hockey League (ESSHL) was established in 1996. The ESSHL is an inter-generational sports activity that seeks to combine sportsmanship, exercise, and healthy competition in the game of ball hockey. The league has grown from one division of 5 teams and 35 players in the first season, to a total league player registration of 220 in 2011. Today the ESSHL
is made up of two divisions whose players are girls, boys, men, and women with a wide range of ages. The current facility/rink at the Parksley Town Park was built in 2005 exclusively by funds donated by league sponsors and private donors. Hundreds of players and fans have enjoyed the competition over the years and the Town of Parksley has played a key role in the success the league now enjoys. Mentioned above, the ESSHL is currently made of two divisions, those divisions are named: Super Junior and Senior leagues. The Super Junior League boasts the youngest members of the ESSHL and is where many young kids learn to play the game, the age range for Super Juniors are 4 to 12 years of age. Finally, our Senior League is primarily an adult league but we welcome anyone ranging from 12+ years old an up to join in this highest league. Anyone of any skill level from beginners to skilled pros are welcome to join this fun and friendly competitive league. The league also houses the ESSHL Titans, a group of selected Senior League members who come together in the off season, summer time, to practice and travel to compete in the Annual Ocean City Beach Bash Hockey Tournament presented by Cool Hockey Events. After 10 years of competing in the tournament the Titans brought home their first ever first place finish in the Novice Division in 2014.
